Lew Hunter's Superior Summer Screenwriting Colony 2009

Do you dream of being a screenwriter? Have you envisioned your name stretched
large and full across that big dark theater screen? More realistically, are you
prepared to put your fingers to the keyboard for hours and days on end to
complete and figure out all of those nuances of a story idea that you have
banging around in your head? Oh, the pained labor and glory of finding the right
words and breathing life into your characters. You know deep inside you could do

Not everyone has seen The Bucket List with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman,
but most are aware of the premise: live your life to the fullest before you die.

This coming summer from June 13th to the 26th, Lew Hunter hosts his Superior
Summer Screenwriting Colony. This is an intense program for serious writers of
all levels. You will learn the facts of the Hollywood business, the fundamentals
of writing screenplays and be given the foundation to grow as scribes.
The 14-day schedule will immerse you in the writing process where you will be
encouraged to progress from story idea, to treatment, to step-outline and
finally to complete the First Act of the Screenplay (30 pages). It is not
unusual for participants to finish their entire first draft.
Lew Hunter has been commended as “an enabler” and a superb teacher in this
craft, and his Screenwriting Colonies supply a nurturing environment where
screenwriters flourish and take a hold of their dreams. Lew will facilitate the
best writing by creating an atmosphere of constructive feedback for all
participants.
The Superior Summer Screenwriting Colony fills rapidly and it is strongly
suggested that you submit an application at your earliest opportunity to ensure
acceptance and availability.
All skill levels of writing experience are encouraged to apply and to
participate. We can easily accommodate the most basic beginner to the most
experienced professional. All writers will be respected, honored and supported
through the writing process.
