Sept. 9-14  *** in Huntington Beach *** 116 Movies














































Join us for the Official Kickoff on Sept. 10, 2008 for special guests,
receptions & more!




At 2PM on Sept. 10, 2008, we will begin showing the first of our 116 movies.  At
8:00, join us for the WORLD PREMIERE of JACKSON by filmmaker J.F. Lawton (Pretty
Woman, Under Siege).  Writer/Director Lawton will be attendance with cast and
crew, with a preceding reception/meet and greet beginning at 6:30 PM.  The
Opening Night Presentation is sponsored by Time Warner Cable.  THIS SCREENING IS
NEARLY SOLD OUT.  Get your Tickets Today!  There will be a replay of JACKSON on

Also, join J.F. Lawton and other guests on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7:00 PM for
PART I of our TARANTINO RETROSPECTIVE.  There will be a discussion about the
impact of RESERVOIR DOGS on filmmaking, followed by a screening of the
movie!  PART II of the Tarantino Retrospective will feature a discussion and
screening of PULP FICTION on Sept. 13 at 8:30 PM.

**LOCATION** All Movies are at the Huntington Beach Central Library Theater in
Huntington Beach located at 7111 Talbert Ave, 92648.

The Unofficial Kickoff takes place Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, where we will be in
Downtown Huntington Beach on the corner of Main and Olive with a big blowup
screen, taking part in the Surf City Idol competition, as well as playing GUITAR

THURSDAY begins at 12:15 PM and will screen a multitude of shorts along with the
features, ROSES HAVE THORNS, ZEBRA CROSSINGS, and the mini-feature SURVIVING NEW
YEAR'S by Huntington Beach's David Beatty.

FRIDAY has a non-stop selection of movies starting at 12:30 PM.  Come on down
and see Animated Shorts, Shorts in the Horror Genre, and movies that just don't
have a genre, so we put them in our off-beat Friday Night screening program! 
Also watch, CRAZY, the acclaimed feature film about guitar legend Hank Garland,
as well as the suspense, thriller CONJURER.

SATURDAY gets rolling at 11:30 AM with  a collection of shorts appropriate for
the whole family, followed by a day of comedy, including I KICKED LUIS GUZMAN IN
THE FACE, starring, well, Luis Guzman.  Saturday also includes the Kevin Nealon
comedy REMARKABLE POWER with Tom Arnold, Kip Pardue, Christopher Titus and many
others in the ensemble feature.  Saturday also has the workshop "EVERYBODY MUST
GET PAID" - a mandatory look at payroll managment and filmmaking.  Special
guests and cast and crew of movies will be visiting throughout the day.

SUNDAY will conclude the festival with shorts, features, the awards presentation
and a closing night reception.  If you liked THE WIRE, be sure to catch
SYMPATHETIC DETAILS, an hour-long movie that reunities many actors from THE WIRE
cast for this crime drama.
