Detour Memphis Is Changing
The director of Detour Memphis Online Magazine announced this week a change in the format of the popular online magazine.
“After two years of producing a monthly online magazine – it is now time to shake it up,” said Nick A. Davis – director and founder of Detour Memphis. “The magazine will be produced
bi-monthly starting with the December 2006 issue. Detour Memphis has been an excellent launch pad for so many underrepresented writers, artists, poets, etc., and now is the time to expand coverage, bring more video/podcasts, and other new media into the light.”
Davis said he is also thinking about changing the format of the sister publication - Detour Louisiana.
“Detour Louisiana is in limbo right now,”
Davis said. “The publication needs a full-time director that is based in Louisiana . The publication needs more submissions and a team that can handle just that one publication. The future of Detour Louisiana is up in the air.”
Davis said he might combine the two online publications.
Detour Memphis is an online magazine featuring alternative news, poetry, plays,
and everything not found in mainstream media. Detour Louisiana is a mirror image of Detour Memphis but it focuses on the arts and entertainment in Louisiana .
Here is the NEW 2007 Detour Memphis publication schedule:
DECEMBER/JANUARY – will hit cyber world on December 1st and stay online till January 30, 2007.
FEBRUARY/MARCH will hit on January 30 and run till March 30th.
APRIL/MAY – will launch on March 30th till May 30th.
JUNE/JULY – will hit the world on May 30th and run till July 30th.
A SPECIAL
SUMMER ISSUE will hit cyber world on June 1st and run till August 1st.
AUGUST/SEPTEMBER – will hit on July 30th till Sept 30th.
OCTOBER/NOVEMBER – will hit Sept 30th till Nov 30th.
And to end the year - DECEMBER/JANUARY – will hit Nov 30th and run till Jan
30th.
“Many new changes are coming to Detour Memphis,” Davis said. “Look for a totally new design, more videos, more pods, more writers, more poets, and more of everything!!”
