Christian Slater Slashed by Wife

Reformed bad boy Christian Slater found himself back on the wild side
Monday when his missus was arrested for domestic battery.


Ryan Haddon was busted for throwing a drinking glass at the thesp,
who needed a whopping 20 stitches to close the gash on his head.


The couple, who have two young children, were staying at the Hard
Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas when the fracas occurred. No word on
what sparked the dispute, but a source tells E! it's a private family
matter.


Sin City cops responded to an early morning domestic violence call in
the couple's suite where they determined Christian to be the victim.
According to a spokesperson with the LVPD, Slater had a laceration on
either his head or forehead.


The 34-year-old was then transported to the Desert Springs Hospital
Medical Center where he received treatment and is reported to be in
fine shape.


Haddon, a 31-year-old television producer, was arrested around 7 a.m.
and charged with battery and domestic violence. She was taken to the
Clark County Jail for a mandatory 24-hour detention--though
conflicting reports say she posted bail, amount unknown, and left
immediately on her own recognizance.


Mug shots of a steely-jawed Haddon were published Tuesday on the
Smoking Gun Website.


A preliminary hearing should take place within six to eight weeks.


According to the source, Slater was well enough to report for duty on
his next movie. The actor was scheduled to begin shooting Monday in
Vancouver on the thriller Pursued, costarring Estella Warren and
Michael Clarke Duncan.


The embattled couple met while hiking in Malibu in 1998. At the time,
he was just out of jail after serving two months on drug and battery
charges. Also on his rap sheet was a drunk driving conviction from
1989 when he lead police on a high-speed chase. Five years later he
was grabbed by security guards at New York's JFK Airport after trying
to enter the terminal while packing a 9mm pistol.


Haddon followed a long line of Slater's offscreen costars, including
Samantha Mathis (news), Winona Ryder (news), Patricia Arquette (news)
and Christy Turlington, but she was the first to get the Heathers
star to the altar. They wed in February 2000.


Since then, Slater has largely managed to stay on the straight and
narrow--except for that night of purported debauchery when he and
Haddon partied down at a strip club with Ben Affleck (news) and Tara
Reid (news) before bringing the swinging party back to the their
house.
