Looking through what has been released with her on cdjapan.co.jp right
now... I can't find any CD or DVD called "Smile" which would feature
Kuriyama Chiaki. There is, however, a CD called "Smile - Toshiki
Kadomatsu with Chiaki" available in two editions. But that has nothing
to do with her (simply because the "Chiaki" on cdjapan's Japanese site
is written differently). There's a lot of idol videos and quite a
large number of audio CDs called "Smile", too, but none of them
features Kuriyama Chiaki. Looking through yesasia.com and two other
import shops brings the same result, so I'm a bit at loss what this
"Smile" should be.
As far as I can remember right now, the only thing she ever made where
she was in several more revealing positions, was the infamous
photobook from when she was 12.

Konnichiwa guys... it's me, norlee again. For the past months i've been
posting my comments and questions about CK on this group, but up to now
there's this question i really am shy to ask. It is about the CD of CK
called Smile (help your self)... Is it a movie... or just a pictorial
video? Is it a p#rn#gr#ph#c CD? 'Cause it really seems like one.
Though i am a male, i really am not comfortable to see girls
(especially the young one's) posing like that.
Sorry for asking these questions but as a big fan of CK, i want to know
all the things possible about her. Thanks.
No problem, Keith! Enjoy!

Great review, Andrew!
I agree with all your points. What struck me is that Chiaki's eyes
are always the most compelling element in her past films, but they
were hidden and half-way destroyed in this one.

Hi guys,
I finally received my copy of "Scrap Heaven" from Yes Asia, and I
have to say was fairly impressed. Although Chiaki is not in the
movie a great deal, when she does appear she is as stunning as ever,
though you don't buy the fact that she has a glass eye (Except for
the scene on the bus when she loses it).
For a while there I thought there was going to be certains elements
of Fight Club, but the film managed to subvert these convention, and
by the end, when I discovered the filmmakers hadn't gone down the
Tyler Durden route, I was pleasently surprised.
The film moves at a great pace, never lagging, and always
interesting. The only problem, would be the ending which is a bit to
ambiguous, as we don;t get to see how many of the characters are
rounded off (Though deleted scenes on the disc would seem to show
what happens to Chiaki's character). Not the uplifting ending that
you may be hoping for, but nevertheless, a very impressive film, and
a lot better than a lot of films coming out of America (But then
I've been saying that for ages).
I would thoroughly recommend this film, even to people who aren't
huge fans of Chiaki.
Anyone else who has seen the film, let me know what you thouht of it.
See ya's
Andrew J. McKie
Len, Thanks for the heads up. Now I know where to go. I appreciate this
greatly.

TOO MANY EMAILS HAS YOUR INBOX SWAMPED? If you selected the default "individual
emails" option when you first joined the Chiaki Kuriyama Fandom Yahoo Group, the
fast and furious traffic (as of January 2004) could give your inbox nasty
indigestion. I would suggest changing that option to "No email" or "Daily
digest" in the EDIT YOUR MEMBERSHIP screen. It's at the upper right hand corner
of the CKF Group Homepage: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/chiaki_kuriyama_fandom.

I just received my pre-ordered copy of Scrap Heaven last week. To me,
it was somewhat violent, disjointed and surreal. Chiaki plays a
character with one glass eye, who works in a pharmaceutical lab.
Unfortunately, she spends all but one scene of the film in
sunglasses. I'd say her character here is cold, but not particularly
villainous. By the way, I admit to loving her as the bad girl.

Hi guys,
I just went onto the IMDB website and it would appear to have been
recently announced that Chiaki will be appearing in a movie version
of the computer game "Tekken", to be directed by Charles Stone III
(Never heard of him, so I don't know if that is a good sign or not.)
and would appear to be a Japanese and American co-production. The
rest of the cast will allegedly include Susie Amy, Sienna Guillory,
Rachel Hurd-Wood, and 'Gollum' himself, Andy Serkis.
Details are subject to change, but production is due to start
sometime this year.
IMDB, tends to be pretty good with their information, so I'm pretty
sure the information is accurate.
Check it out at www.imdb.com. Then do a search for Chiaki.
If anyone hears anything more, let us know.
Cheers,
Andrew
Hi Hi,
Hmmm, too much translations of CK:Girls Locks! diary
has been left as my home works... I want TIME!
By the way, here's some notes.
[SHISEIDO MQ SITE]
Here comes new CM & Wallpaper(this might be old news).
http://www.shiseido.co.jp/mq/index.htm
If U don't know well about this site, please read my
post on 2005 December 14th to check it out.
[ABOUT SCRAP HEAVEN]
Yes, DVD will be released this Friday, here in Japan.
I watched it in the theater & I like it.
I couldn't write details of this work, but CK played
cool charactor & I also liked actors in the film.
This is not the kind of movie with huge audience,
but interesting, I felt. I will buy DVD because
CK is there.
[BIG SPOOK WAR]
One or two weeks ago, "YOUKAI¡ÝJIRU" set arrived my mail box.
They are three cans of "YOKAI-JIRU[Goblin Juice or soup]",
"NEZUMI-KOZOU-JIRU[Rat Man Juice]" & "MEDAMA-OYAJI-JIRU[Old
Eyeball Man Juice]". I remember I entried the lottery on a
flyer of "Big Spook War DVD". Though they look like weird,
contents(Juice) are refreshing fruits. I think they should
include "AGI-JIRU" in the set, not "Rat Man" or "Old Eyeball
Man"!
[BIG AD of P902iS]
Not a big news, but there was a big ad poster of Panasonic's
new mobile phone, P902iS in my nearest train station. It
was good to see CK fighting pause before & after the work,
but it's only for a week and it's gone...
[WOMAN'S ISLAND(TV DRAMA)]
I watched the TV drama. Well, CK played cute, cheerful
charactor than usual. I had a good laugh when my daughter
said "This isn't a typcal Chiaki, is she?". After the
broadcasting, three of my friends(who know I am a CK fan &
they are not CK fan) commented "She's cute" or "I had a good
impression of her.". On the other hand, each of them named
three diffrent actress as their "most attractive woman".
That's OK, TV drama with many types of attractive women.
I think it was good TV drama as a CK fan, too.
Bye Bye,
isakana

Since you're in the UK you can watch Japanese DVDs without any
problems anyway. Europe and Japan have the same DVD region :P
And no, you're not the only one, trust me.
I should get Scrap Heaven next week, if I'm lucky and the postal
office'll do the job properly. Pre-ordered it in January.

Hi there,
I found a website (global.yesasia.com) where you are able to pre-
order the DVD, when it gets released. I live in the UK, and I am
fortunate to have a multi-region DVD player, so I'm able to view a
lot of these new movies.
I have a VCD copy of Kagen no Tsuki which I thought was really good,
and I enjoyed watching our wonderful Chiaki playing a nice character.
Am I the only person who enjoys seeing Chiaki playing none
villainous characters?
If anybody sees "Scrap heaven" let us know how it is.
Cheers,
Andrew J. McKie

Scrap Heaven's not yet out in Japan on DVD. Release is the 24th, this
Friday.
There is a region 1 DVD to be released on June 26th.
No word on a region 1 DVD of Kagen no Tsuki, though. But,
interestingly, there's a region 3 DVD of it available.

I need some help here. I need to know the name of the actress who plays the Girl
who always gets whacked by the teacher? I believe in one scene she gets an
ungodly low score on a test and then tries to flirt with the Teacher and gets
smacked in the head.
In another episode after Aya, I believe her name was, spots Chiaki's character
torturing the boy she shrunk in the girls bathroom, she tells the teacher and he
pulls a surprise inspection in the class, but the Girl sits in front of Chiaki
and he empties her purse and she has half the free world fall onto her desk.
He then asks her what was some of the stuff in their until finally she mouths
off and he gives her a left hook to the head!
I know somebody here has to know the name of the actress and even the Teacher.
I really need to know who they were.
Thanks in advance.

highly recommend it. www.videolan.org.

To put it straight and simple... no. At least not atm and I doubt
it'll be in the near future, considering that her workload in Japan
