Re: CK on Myspace

Qoute from: http://tanutech.com/japan/newyear.html

"The Japanese celebrate the New Year in a big way. The official New
Year falls on January 1st, however, in actuality the season itself
runs from the 31st of December through the 3rd of January"

Do a search for Japanese new year and you'll find a lot of sites that
say what I said.

This page has some information on Japanese New Year's Eve if you want
to see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omisoka

As for Chiaki and Eglish. Many Japanese can understand a little
english and can write in english too. Chiaki said she was trying to
learn English a few years ago. She also said that since she was back
in Japan(right after Kill Bill) the desire for her to learn English
deminished because she didn't really need to learn it anymore.

Another thing I noticed is those type faces (not the proper term for
them but I'm not sure what to call them) like x0_0x (*^_^*) and (>_<)
on the myspace page are all made with a regular keyboard. Japanese
keyboards have different characters on them and so they can make
different faces. Check out Chiaki's Official diary and look for those
faces. If you notice, they look different and have different
characters than those on american keyboards.

Also, why doesn't the Myspace page say anything about her recent tv
appearances and commercials? Since "she" bothered to list the movies
and her older tv appearances it seems "she's" using the myspace for
promotional purposes. It'd make more sense for her to list more recent
things especially her tv appearances since tv shows are more important
than movies in the Japanese industry.
