Why doesn't Buddy Ebsen have a star on the walk of fame in Hollywood?
If Ryan Seacrest has one, why not Buddy Ebsen. He was in two very
successful television shows and two of the most popular movies in
history (Breakfast at Tiffanys & Wizard of Oz - voice contribution).

The western that you are talking about could be a Rex Allen film. It played
on the
Western channel last year. I don't know the title.

Nope, Captain January was a Shirley Temple flick. This one was maybe a
western and he did a solo in a bar around a bunch of men. He was
wearing trousers with suspenders. It's hard to find movies that old at
the video store, but this one was on the classic movie channel. He was
really young in it too, I'd say late teens-early twenties. That dance
was so cool...I have been tapping for a while, so I'm always looking
for new moves to learn. I'll post if I ever find it.

I saw a movie with Buddy as a young man the other day. It was in black
and white. He does this really cool tap dance in a bar (I think) and I
was wondering if anyone knows what movie I'm talking about, or
especially the name... Thanks! Erin in California

Can anyone tell me the name of a movie starring Buddy Ebsen in which
he "supervises" the son of a deceased friend? I believe the name of
his character was Fox. The setting was in The Western United States -
maybe Montana in (peraps) the early 1900s. I believe the movie was
made later in his life. Many thanks for any information you can provide!

Hi,
I was there this Saturday and it was really nice! Dick Van Dyke, Max
Baer Jr, Lee Merriwether, and Fess Parker spoke about Buddy and a one
hour long film that Buddy completed 6 months prior to his passing
called "The Buddy Ebsen Story" was played!

There was several news stations and I did see some clips on the
evening news! If you go go Yahoo search and type in Celebration of
Life Buddy Ebsen you may be able to see some of the stories done.....

Also to see a video on a brief history of Buddy's career go to
www.unclejedcountry.com

Take care

Hi, I'm new here and, of course, a Buddy Fan.

Although it was "before my time" I grew up on Shirley Temple re-runs
and delighted at Buddy dancing At the Codfish Ball in Captain
January. Still remember the words....

I have a personal web site, and am planning to incorporate Codfish
Ball on the page...with a small reference tribute to Buddy at the
end. DOES ANYONE HAVE or refer me to one pic of Buddy in Capt.
January dancing to Codfish Ball. I realize Shirley will be in it
with him but would love to get that pic...have been unable to find in
surfing the net. MANY THANKS and

Rest in Peace, Buddy - Thanks for your wholesome TRUE ENTERTAINMENT !

The World is a much better place now than it would have been because
of Buddy Ebsen. He was a very kind, gentle and loving man. And,
one of America's most revered actors of all time.

Thanks to the group moderator for starting the Buddy Ebsen Fan Club
a few years ago after his long hiatus since Barnaby Jones. I was
very happy to have been able to keep up with him after he retired
from acting.

God Bless you, Buddy and my thoughts and prayers are with your loved
ones and all who admired you.

Sincerely,

Yes, it is very sad about Buddy Ebsen's passing. After someone
in the site mentioned his being in the hospital - and considering
his age - I was not too surprised. He was a wonderful actor and
a very nice human being. Like the rest of you, I will miss him; but
we all have our fond memories!

Hi Folks!

I am a huge Barnaby Jones fan! LOVED the character that Mr.
Ebsen portrayed! He was great as Uncle Jed, too; but I preferred
the more "normal" person he played in Barnaby Jones.

Do you think we will ever get to see his dectective series again??
