It is an honor and a privilege to announce that I have been cast in the role of Mr. Phipps (Lord Goring's Butler) in the upcoming Long Beach Playhouse production of Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband.
An Ideal Husband will be my tenth performance in a Long Beach Playhouse production since beginning my professional acting career in the Long Beach Playhouse production of Six Degrees of Separation in March 2003.
An Ideal Husband is a dazzling blend of farce and morality. The play explores human
frailty and social hypocrisy. Sir Robert Chilton’s secret is discovered and exposed as he is accused of having exploited government secrets for his own gain early in his political career. With this revelation from Mrs. Cheveley comes the threat of blackmail and the ruin of Sir Robert’s career. Yet, in order to be a successful blackmailer, one’s own reputation must be beyond reproach. Oscar Wilde’s wonderful wit is at work in this famous, lush costume comedy which features blackmail, stolen jewels, romance and rich satire on the Victorian era.
An Ideal Husband will run from May 11- June 16 with Sunday matinees May 20 & 27, June 3 & 10.
Please come and enjoy the show.
