Hi there

I am a huge China Beach fan, not to mention the bigest Brian Wimmer fan on
the planet, and I have a question about an episode that I was hoping someone
could help me with. I was just watching China Beach last night and something
struck me as odd.

If I can remember correctly there was an episode where Boonie (Brian's
character) took a young Vietnamese kid under his wing only to find he was an
army deserter. The kid wanted to be an American surfer like Boonie. I think
that Boonie said the surfer persona was all an act and that he hadn't seen
an ocean until he came to China Beach.

Well last night in the episode where Boonie is in the hospital back in the
states he says he is from Santa Cruz California and he grew up surfing.

Any ideas? Am I totally mistaken?
