Hello mw: The commentators in the U.S. had only good things to say about the
opening ceremonies. We have been anticipating the ceremonies for a long time.
We knew that if the Chinese government organized the events, that it would be
spectacular. I hope that there will be a DVD of the 2008 Olympics. I will
certainly buy it.
Hey, I cried too at the ceremonies, because they were so beautiful.
I was also happy for the men's and women's Chinese gymnastic teams winning the
Gold. They fully deserved it.
Yes, the Chairman Mao watch that Brendon wears is the one with the hands.

I was also so excited by watching the opening -- have taken free for an half day
to watch it in live from Germany. Was really proud. In the second when I have
seen the chinese flag I was moved to tears. As all chinese I don't like the
goverment and the political system in China, but whatever and however they are,
in that moment, they are the representive of my home and my country. And I
experienced and I'm experiecing the big improvement in China in all areas. The
german commentator really made me angry, because she was looking for protest all
the time and complaining that too many people had to work for the opening. Come
on, it was only a getting together for the sportsmen and we have more than 1
billion people in China, and already more than 10 million people in Beijing!
It's not a suprising, if oen can find 1000 people who likes to work for the
opening! I really don't understand why people can not stay in peace and just
enjoy the big show, fo reone moment. My only comment to this commentator was in
german: "Du blöde Kuh". But probably it's typical german, they were forced to be
not proud of their nationatility after the second war, mosttimes they don't know
where is the limit to critic a goverment or a country.By the way, is the
"Chairman Mao" watch the one with Mao's arm as watch hand? I have seen it by one
buiseness trip in Beijing but didn't buy it -- must be a mistake from me.

Hello Stella. Welcome to the group and your english is fine. It's
always a thrill to hear from members from other countries. Rough
group? - Hey, I resemble that remark!
Oh bee-haaaayvv......

Stella,
Welcome to the Beehive.
I see the Beehive's Boss (Brendon) has already given you his welcome.
I've had the priviledge of enjoying Brendon's company several times
when our group has gotten together over the last several years and each
one left me with wonderful memories. I hope that you too will have an
opportunity to meet him.
Most of the pictures from our get togethers is at the Garrison's
Gorilla's Noncon Yahoo Group and here is the link to that group
http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/garrisonsgorillas_noncon/. Enjoy them.
And regarding your English, you did fine! Keep posting.
