Hi Joyce - I'm fine. My daughter is fine. She's still not heard
anything about her going 'active'. Which is fine with me. She's not
doing anything I didn't do(Although knowing I'd never go off to war
helped) so I have nothing to argue with her about over it.

The time that you son is in basic and training will go faster than
you think. Probably faster than it will for him! And I'm sure he'll
do fine. It's just hard to let them go. My daughter is old (29), so
she's been gone for many years anyway.

Have you heard Tim McGraw's song, "If You're Reading This" (I think)?
I'm like a person and a train wreck everytime it comes on the radio -
I listen and I cry. You'd think I could just switch the station, but
I have to listen to it all. Ah well, I'm just a sentimental old fool.

And he'll have lots of people supporting him! Troops are treated very
good - overall - by the public these days. I guess we are determined
to not treat them like the Vietnam Vets were treated.
