Hey, can we talk about the way our little, er um,
HEARTS flutter, everytime we hear Jack Nickleson say
"Billy the Club"? Don't want to trivialize a great movie
that means a lot to me, but whoa! And how often do we
get to see his naked bod. That alone should have won
him the Oscar.

Good for you! I just got Blue Velvet, Sonny Boy,
Graveyard Shift, Murder in the First and Grim Prairie Tales
from auctions on eBay.

That's another great
place to find Brad Videos if you strike out
elsewhere.

Happy hunting.

Ingrid

There are no stupid questions
here.

Actually, we are making this up as we go along. Anything is
valid. We are just going to use the films as starting
points for discussion. The one link all of these films
will have in common is that they all have Brad Dourif
in them. Obviously that is why we want to watch them
but there may also be other elements of the films we
enjoy or don't enjoy.

There are no taboo topics.
Just say whatever comes to your mind.

By the
way, I watched Cuckoo's Nest last night and I just
want to say that I'm changing myname to

Cuckoo's Nest, Eyes of Laura Mars, Death Machine,
Ragtime and Common Bonds. I had originally just bought
the first 4, since they didn't have Common Bonds
listed under his name. I did another search and found it
yesterday and had to order it. I'll be doing the happy
dance when the mail comes that day! Maybe it will be
the happy naked dance. No, don't want to frighten the
mail carrier...

Ok, stupid question; are we discussing the film or just simply his role and
performance? Sorry if this seems like an idiotic question, but I get confused
easily - I'm not too bright, ya know! :)

Since it seems that so far those who have posted
are OK with Cuckoo's Nest, this is what we'll do. I
know everyone has different schedules. I, for one, am
pretty busy all week long but I can always find time for
Brad. So, sometime in the next couple of days, watch
Cuckoo's Nest and post comments, observations, likes,
dislikes etc, anything that comes to mind. When we feel
done with that movie as a topic, we'll pick another
and so on and so on.

Looking forward to
hearing from everyone.

Happy viewing
ladies.

Ingrid

Cuckoo's Nest is great with me! Billy is actually my favorite character of his,
so far. I'm sure that I'll find others when my new movies come in, though!

LOL You too huh? Well I say that unless there are any objections, Cuckoo's Nest
it is.

"Cuckoo's Nest" is great, but it's my bad time and I don't know if I'll be
allowed to watch it (what with my fondness for sharp objects). I'll check with
my keepers...
Love,
Jamie

Welcome back from Labor Day everyone! I hope you
had a great weekend and that you all had the day
off.

I went to a great event here in Los Angeles called
the LA Street Race. They have all sorts of events and
races all weekend long. I went on Sunday and Monday
with my boyfriend. He got me into auto racing last
year and I am hooked.

Anyway, back to the topic
here. Since I wasn't home all weekend I did not have a
chance to view any of my Brad videos.

So, let's
pick a movie for discussion and everyone will get a
chance to see it and pipe in whenever they have a
comment.

My suggestion is that we start with something like
Cuckoo's Nest which is easy to rent if you don't already
own it. If anyone has any other suggestions I'm open
to hearing them. If not, let me know if Cuckoo's
Nest will work and that will be our first
movie.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

Ingrid

I'm so psyched - I just bought four of his movies
through Amazon. Lordy, I can't wait till they arrive! I'm
gonna sit right down and have myself a Bradfest (when
my husband isn't around to witness it!). I'm kind of
bummed that a couple of his movies, like "The
Horseplayer", are so expensive. They want $75.00 for them right
now. I think I know what I'll be asking for
Christmas...

Just to let you guys know. I am usually not home
during the weekends so I can't check this club until the
weekdays.

I also have plans for the entire labor day weekend
so I probably won't be able to check the postings
until next Tuesday.

Since I don't know which
titles everyone has, we should probably stick to the
ones that are easily rentable at first. Let's pick a
title after the holiday.

I hope everyone has a
great weekend and a great holiday.

Ingrid

I think it's a great idea! Although I'm a huge
fan, I really haven't seen many of his movies. I'm
planning to start a collection, and would love to watch
them all "with" you guys. Let me know what the first
pick is!

Sounds cool to me. Liz, my roommate would love to
join us. We also have most of Brad's movies ( although
The Progeny was put on back order for 3-5 weeks- send
condolences to Liz c/o me a jvanbroc@...) Anyway, it
really could be a lot of fun- as you know from Jen's
website that there is one thing I look for in all of
Brad's movies *snickers*
Oh, btw it's great to know
there are other rabid fans in California.
Unfortunately, we are stuck in Silicon Valley, while you're down
south where all the action is.
Unfair!
Love,
Jamie

I've been trying to think of somthing we can do
as a club to keep things interesting and I think
I've come up witha pretty good idea.

How about
if we pick a movie of the week or month, whatever is
most convenient for everyone and then watch that movie
and post observations etc.? I checked my library and
I have over 30 of Brad's movies. Don't worry if
your collection isn't quite that large. Most of Brad's
movies are rentable.

I've actually been building
my library quite successfully through the online
auctions at Ebay and Yahoo. I haven't even checked
Amazon.con's auction site yet. Usually I search for his name
but today I found some of his titles online by
searching for the title of the movie.

I don't know.
It's just an idea. I'm open for suggestions,
modifications etc.

Ingrid

existence of the club. Very excited and looking forward to
all kinds of Brad chat. Nice job, Ingrid!

have been a fan since One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
I have been a rabid fan since Exorcist III.
(2)
My favorite Brad movie?! That's so hard! oaky my
three favorites: Wise Blood, Horseplayer, and Death
Machine.
(3) My favorite character is Bud Cowan (Horseplayer),
but I too have the hots for Jack Dante (and Tucker
Cleveland and Weasel)
Hey, ask easy questions next

OK, Let's get some discussion going:

1.
How long have you been a fan?

I had seen Brad
in several movies but had never really noticed him
until I saw Exorcist III at a drive in.

2.
What is your favorite Brad movie?

Exorcist III
is definitely up there but I also love Common Bonds
and Istanbul. It looks like I'm having a hard time
comning up with one favorite huh?

3. What is
your favorite character?

Hmmm, another tough
one for me. It almost changes on a daily basis. I
love Jack Dante (that long hair)I have a soft spot for
the Gemini Killer as well. I suppose since I'm asking
the questions, I can just say I love them all in
their own way.

I look forward to reading your
answers and feel free to come up with more
questions.

Ta for now.

Ingrid
