I'm sure by now everyone has heard that A Nightmare on Elm Street is being remade and Jackie Earl Haley is playing the role of Freddy Krueger. I'm curious to hear everyone's take on this; as I have heard some people saying that they are curious to see how he will take on the role and others saying that this is the worst thing ever. I, of course, feel there is only ONE Freddy Krueger. Supposidly, the story this time is that Freddy is falsely accused of molesting a child and is killed by the parents.
Honestly, that kills the whole idea of Freddy being scary and dirty. I hate movies that try to make you feel remorse for a killer. It tones down the frightening aspect of the character and creates a film that is no longer a horror movie. I don't want a movie where you feel sorry for Freddy; I want a movie where you fear him. That's why I'll always stick with the original and avoid this piece of
garbage.

Last I heard (which was quite a while ago), they were going for a prequel. But.... didn't they pretty much cover what happened in all of the Nightmare on Elm...
I agree. That doesn't make sense. If he was a good person, falsely accused, why not "go to the light" and move on? Why stay and become they monster they...

I guess, like all the other remakes, we need to feel sorry for the killer and blame their homicidal tendencies on somebody else (ie: Leatherface with his skin...
Remember when evil didn't need an explanation? Myers just decided one day to kill, Leatherface was born into it, Jason inexplicably rose from his watery grave...
That's what I pick up on sometimes. The media tries to convince there is no such thing as evil - just victims who make the bad decision to victimize.  ...
The old formula for horror movies was that 'true evil never dies' and that it is possible for evil to be born evil. I'm reminded of a case back in the early...
Good grief Hollywood needs to get new ideas. When I saw the previews was grossed out. Hell look they remade Children of the corn I didn't see that one it was...
The bad thing about a 'sequel-to-a-remake' like Halloween 2 is that it will appeal ONLY to fans of the remake. At least the remake was a curiosity to fans of...
Sadly, I have not seen Halloween (remake), nor will I be seeing the Nightmare on Elm Street remake. I loved House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects, but...

I really liked Toolbox Murders. It really was nice to see Tobe Hooper back to what he did best. The atmosphere was creepy as was the music. Too bad it got...
One big problem I had with it was that it was so dark. And not moody and brooding-kind of dark. I mean it was hard to see because it wasn't lit. There were...
Toolbox Murders was actually a decent film. The acting was good and the uneasy feeling throughout the whole thing worked out perfectly. I'm usually not big on...
It's been years since I have seen the Tool Box Murders I can't remember to much about what it's about other than it was rated 8 on my scale if a movie reach's...
I really liked it. Possibly one of the few good horror films of the 21st century (so far). If it's possible for a remake to be called 'original' this actually...
