Do we need a prequel for this series? I thought it was already layed out in every single movie. And unless something changed, not having Robert Englund as Freddy is an instant no-go.
For me, Hollywood is ruining one classic after another.

Subject: [billjohnsononline] Nightmare on Elm Street Remake
I read the plot line for the Nightmare on Elm Street remake on a message board.
"Fred Krueger is a gardener at a preschool, who is accused of child molestation. He is then burned alive by the parents of the kids who accused him. Then, when the children are 18, he seeks his revenge. Only is Freddy really guilty of these crimes or is he possibly seeking justice for being falsely accused?"
All I can say is that this kills the dark image that the original Freddy carried with him. In the original Nightmare, he was a filthy child murderer but in this one, he might be innocent? But then again, it's Michael Bay. I think that explains itself.
