Director's Note-  Typhoon

 

I invite you to come see the new international director's cut of Typhoon.  My hope in making this movie is to create an entertaining action movie rooted in the human tragedy of nations and families divided and destroyed because of purely political reasons, a theme which destroys a Korean family in this film, but resonates   deeply within all people and nations. 

 

We faced many challenges, including the tsunami which devastated so much of the Thai coast.   We were very fortunate in that none of the people in the TYPHOON family were harmed, but it did wreak havoc with our sets and schedule. 

Personally, this movie is important on another level as well. 

 

One of my goals with the film is  to show the world that Asian cinema and Korean cinema specifically has advanced in terms of story, scope and scale. Our only limits are the outer reaches of our imagination. I hope you enjoy the movie and I thank you for your continued support of Korea and Korean Cinema.
