Hi Roy inMontreal,
How are you? thanks for the compliments on my Email. Well I continue reading
the Fan Fictions. I loved the first few that I read that I copied them on a
Word Document and printed them all, except the one in French and one that John
dies, which I hate when they are not together and happy. I ended up with my own
GR book of fan fictions of 977 pages, with a print font of comic sans like this
one and 10 points, so even though I already read all the stories I am so hooked
that I am reading them again for the 3rd time. I never understood being hooked
up with a movie but this one is just too awesome to leave behind. I am so sorry
that this movie wasn't more popular back in 1999 when it came out, I saw it just
this year and I just loved it. As I am an eternal romantic, I wished that the
movie would have lasted another 30-45 minutes and maybe there was a reunion and
back together between Steven and John. I think the ending that Simon left us
with, has somewhat distasteful ending and
most of us who love the movie wanted another ending or at least a sequel but
that is just impossible now in 2005.
The soundtrack I bought it and play it every day in my car when going to work
and I downloaded it into my iPod and also have it in my computer so I listen to
it, every day. which song I love? We have the same taste, I love Shine. If
you go to Yahoo music, type Liberty Horses and they have it their video, this
song is awesome. I pay a company to download music however, being in the US, a
lot of the British songs do not make it here or haven't heard it so I could
never download the soundtrack except with the most popular songs like the
Blackstreet boys or You are beuatiful with Joe Cocker but not with Ian who is
the one who sings it in the movie so I bought the soundtrack. I love shine so
much, that I play it at least 20 times a day while I am working and driving.
When I heard it in the movie, you barely could hear the tune as they played very
little of the song however the little they offered, was enough to get an idea
how beautiful the song was going to be so I was so pleased
when I heard the whole song for the first time that I was excited that I had
bought the CD. I am not sure if Ben has access to this Yahoo Group but he
definitely has or wants a mayor role in participation with his web page however,
Pete who manages, sometimes doesn't have the time to keep it updated as often as
he would like as he is a very busy man with his other job, the paying job he
calls it. Pete and Patrick Wilde are coming to the play in SF sometime in the
next 2-5 weeks until the play ends mid July. Before, Ben's web page had several
places where the fans wrote emails to Ben and participated in chat rooms where
Ben participated too, however since Pete modified the web page, he hasn't
brought up to date the other options so right now the web page is an informative
one and for those who love GR, we can read the fan fictions stories which are
fenomenal. If you haven't read any, I high recommend them. There are a few
that are long between 12-32 chapters and those are great
as they begin with the scene at the field saying good bye and soon after this,
both John and Steven get reunited and both parents accept and friends accept
them so they are able to live and enjoy love as a couple, both going out
together and spending nights at each house so they are welcomed and well
accepted with several stories in between. As most of us see GR as a love story,
most of the stories written by the fans, they want Steven and John together and
let them live their love free from anyone opposing to their relationship. Other
stories bring them back as professionals getting back together, others give them
kids in their lives, John married and got kids and then got divorced, etc. etc.
I highly recommend them, you will love them and will be difficult to put the
stories down, wanting more.
I will let you know who played Steven in the play. Definitely, the guys are not
as handsome as Brad and Ben but we will see how the play is the same or not to
the movie. Some movie characters are not involved in the play, that is what I
read somewhere in Ben's webpage. Its a pity that we cannot see more of their
movies or projects they are involved. I have tried my hardest to buy Brad's
other movies and already got Club Le Monde and now I am getting The Case. Ben
doesn't have too many movies after GR most of his work has been in plays in
England while he studied in Cambridge and after.
Take care Ray, and will keep in touch,
Miriam from California

Hi.. I loved your E-mail how didi you get so much on one page? I saw
Bens film "the browning Version" on TV this morning. Ben said he didn't
take the role seriously enough, I think he was a bit hard on himself. He
played the role beautifully, there were shades in his acting of what
was to come. I thought the end of GR to be final. I couldn't see
anything that could follow. The whole story seemed to go to
Finality.Ending up with Linda driving down the A333. Lucky you going to
the play in San Fran. I saw a write up about it on Ben's website but no
mention who is playing Steven. I use to laugh at people who were
obsessed with Films and actors, but after GR I soon found myself
obsessed for the first time too, now I understand!
I am definatly a BEN fan through and through. Although I enjoyed Brad
Gorton in his role as John, Ben was the one who got to me. I wonder if
he has access to these E-mails?? What song did you enjoy on the CD the
most ? I like that song"Shine" of course I also liked"you are so
beautifull and "play that funky music whiteboy" I first heard that song
at a distance, I could't believe it !! untill I hear it properly and
discovered it was "Funky music". I'm coming to the end of the page.
cheers..Roy in Montreal.
