Months after the incident in the Narrows, Batman has succeeded in bringing Gotham on the path of salvation.The criminals, corrupted bureaucrats and mob bosses ofthe city all know and fear him. Yet, crime continues to flourish and the streets are still not safe during the night, but hope remains while Batman’s tireless eyes watch over the city.Soon, Batman meets Nyssa, a woman he had once learned to love. But she is nothing like the woman he knew and lives only to avenge the death of her father: Ra’s al Ghul.Unknown to Batman, Al Ghul is very much alive and planning once more to destroy the decayed city of Gotham.

Back at her father’s side,Nyssa finds herself torn between her revived love for Batman and the loyalty for her father. Often, she would find that love is indeed a powerful feeling, and on several occasions would betray her father and take refuge at Batman’s side.Determined not to leave until he sees the city destroyed, Al Ghul turns once more to Dr Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow to carry out his plans. Not long afterwards, the man betrays him and disappears without a trace and Al Ghul has no choice but to make other deals. Ra’s al Ghul’s second daughter, Talia, also makes her appearance, coming to aid her father in his quest.

Due to an unfortunate twist of events, Gotham DA Rachel Dawes finds herself a prisoner in Al Ghul’s hideout for way too long, her only hope of escape resting with two SWAT officers who had infiltrated the Demon’s lair and managed to stay alive.As new foes emerge from the darkness, Batman often finds himself overwhelmed, but with allies who share his vision, such as Nightwing, he will never be defeated and it will be long before Gotham lives its final day.
