This is the one and only place on the web to exclusively discuss the great works of Arch Hall Jr. From the late 1950s till the mid-60s, Arch Hall Sr's Rushmore Productions and Fairway Films produced films starring his son Arch Hall Jr.
While they can be regarded (by some) as "exploitation", or "B," the films are undeniably fun, and the fact that they are still widely collected and in print is testimony to the quality of Arch Hall Jr's work. Films like Wild Guitar (a 1962 guitar slinger's odyssey co-starring and directed by cult-icon Ray Dennis Steckler), The Choppers (juvenile delinquent melodrama), Eegah (caveman adventure co-starring Richard Kiel) have cemented Arch Hall Jr's place in film history - especially for Cult, Psychotronic, and Rock 'N' Roll movie enthusiasts.
Arch jumped headfirst into acting, and his techique was "untrained" to say the least - but the enthusiasm he puts into his earlier roles is contagious. By the time Arch starred in The Sadist (1963), as a psychotic killer - Arch had bloomed into a full-fledged actor, and the film is an underground masterpiece.
Since his cinematic heyday Arch was reclusive, but lately Arch has been resurfacing, first as the author of an adventure novel, Apsara Jet, using the alias Nicolas Merriweather. In 2004, Arch's 2 part extensive interview (to my knowledge his first) was in Fangoria Magazine issues 237 and 238. An LP compilation of Arch's music was released in October of 2004 on Norton Records. Arch Hall Jr. and The Archers have since played a handful of live dates. A documentary about Arch Hall Jr. is in production. Where this is all leading, I'm willing to wager, you'll hear about it.....HERE!
In honor of Arch Hall Jr's well deserved resurgence, I'm proud to present, the first ever ARCH HALL JR. CHATGROUP!
