Just wondering if there are any in this club who may have a theory as
to why the Baron in Chitty Bang bang constantly tries to kill his wife
(Anna Quayle) in the movie.

First of all she is very sexy with corset and braids during the
bedroom scene and furthermore she dotes on him all the time.

Of course there is also the "what was that doing in a kids movie" thing.

Any thoughts?..

Also does anyone have any shots of Anna to post?  We'd Love to see more.

I forgot to respond to one of your comments so I am posting this as
well.

I had wondered about the Child Catcher and the Baroness. They both
hate children right. Or is he just securing his job by being nice to
his boss.  Of course the odd thing is the fact that the Baroness
hates children but adores her husband who couldn't be more child
like if he tried. I do wonder even more then the perplexing fact
that the Baron wants his sexy wife dead is what does she see in him?
Is it to secure her place in the kingdom? Before he sends her
through the trap door she sings "I only know I don't deserve
you"…..1st it is He that doesn't deserve her. She does notice that
he is trying to kill her but she just waves it off. Is she actually
scared to death of him and trying to be nice to keep herself alive
while trying to figure out how to get out of all this? No one
outside of the child catcher seems the least bit interested in her
or her well being. Hence why I think a much better ending is for
Dick Van Dyke to rescue her from her fate. Go open that cage at the
end of the movie pluck the beautiful women out, slam the door back
on the Baron, ditch the kids and the rather bitchy Truly get in
Chitty and join the mile high club as he peels back the layers of
his goreguos new women and slowly unlaces her corset to reveal her
perfect body and give her the attention she truly deserves.

Would you believe, I just bought the dvd? That riding outfit features
a buttress her attendant constantly fusses over(layers of petticoats
underneath, plus a black corset?), and she's wearing that monster
diamond ring on her right pinky--over gloved pinky, wow! The red
dress with embroidery? Red undergarments for sure! When the ejector
seat sent her flying into the air, and shot down into the water, my
first impulse was that someone should have swum out to save her. Ahh,
the child-catcher! I wonder if he just did his unpleasant job in
order to curry favor with the sexy Baroness? Regarding the corset
scene, every time you watch it, you see something new. Indeed, Anna's
figure looks so full and lush when the Baron is about to drape her
with that filmy robe! I watched the final scene on dvd, and saw that
leg as Anna climbed up on the table. One kid got quite a view!!
Definitely the most erotic kid's movie of all time! I think it's
comparable to those Batman TV episodes with Julie Newmar. Or do you

Yes the Chu-chi scene is the climac of Anna and her outfits but she
looks great from the begining to the end of her scenes.

In the 1st scene as she is wearing what seems to be a riding outfit

I feel the same. Even while Anna snoozed and fanned herself during
the "Truly Lovely" scene, she got me turned on. No wonder, since she

revision to the closing scene sounds more believable and logical than
the original. How about this, too? Realizing his only ticket to

Well Len, it seems I have found someone that thinks the same as I
about Anna and her role in CCBB.

I had never thought about that before but your right. The Baroness
had a different and elaborate costume in each and everyone of her
scenes. Most of them as tight as possible. More costume changes then
anyone else in the fim and she's not actually in most of the film.

I don't know if you have seen any other Anna movies. I have a copy
of Arreviederchi baby and should try to get some vid caps from it.
It was done the year before CCBB and she acts quite the flirt in
it....she ends up being killed by her adopted son... She was also in
Casino Royale where she doesn't look that great but you can see how
great her body is under her black dress....she gets killed there
too :(.

But by far the best is Anna as the Baroness, firting, looking great
right up to the climactic chu-chi scene where see just sends me over

were others that saw a better movie within ccbb the kids and a car

When I think of the Chu-Chi scene, I imagine fathers who probably
came home with erotic images in their minds vs being bored with
having to sit through a lame movie with their kids. But yeah, nearly
impossible to understand what beautiful Anna is doing in a kid's
movie dressed like that--and positively burlesque on that table.
Let's just be thankful that some MGM exec approved that script.
Perhaps the producers felt this would be an intriguing and attention-
grabbing subplot--a loving and lovely woman being treated in such an
unbelievable manner by this fat and childish lout--but could they
have imagined the subplot would become Dick Van Dyke, cute co-stars
and a car that could fly? Oh, isn't it also interesting that a lot
more imagination, expense and creativity went into Anna's costumes

I saw this film on TV once, and couldn't wait to view the credits to
see who played the Baroness. This film is supposed to be about a
flying car, but what sticks in the mind is how the fat Baron could

Damn right she's magificent!!!  My first encounter was Chitty Chitty
Bang Bang..where I thought she was the sexiest women on the film. The
next movie I saw her in was Arrivederci baby where I thought she was
just as cute..to think someonw wanted her dead in both of them.

I saw her as Olga in the avenger's just a year ago..wow what a body!!!

Always searching out new pics of Anna.

Started a new album called Casino Royale..were Anna gets killed
AGAIN!!!

Just added a couple of pic's of the Baroness to a new folder. Check

Does anyone have pics of Anna from any other movies? Would love to
