I am a animator desperately wanting to choose
animation as my profession. I had an impression that
to learn and to work in this field is not possible in
India.

I`m not sure I understand this-
a lot of people do learn and work in India...
Irrespective of where u choose to study and work- it
all comes down to your talent- nothing else counts-
Believe me-I know.

Well-
From A to Z hers a small list:
There are regular sketching artists-
they take care of the storyboard-its like a comic
which tells the story in pictures..

Modellers- who make those characters u see on screen

Texturers: they colour the models.

Riggers and Animators:
They make the models move...

Editors: all scenes are shot from various angles- they
decide which camera angle looks best...

Compositors- they take 2 sequences and make them one.
Eg In Ghulam- theres Aamir running on the track.
It was shot like this-
*Aamir runs in a studio which has specialized
backgroung and nothing else(its mostly blue or green)
*Second shot: of a train moving.
The two shots are taken together- and Aamirs
background is deleted which makes it look as though he
is running on a railway track .....

And there r a whole lot more departmenst involved...

U can do it all or just specialize
Obviously when starting out -conc. on one thing- then
move to another......
