I feel that Luke will always struggle with that part of himself; as will Leia.
You ever notice how you seem to take the best and worst attributes of your
parents, even if you feel that you want to be nothing like them? It's the same
case in this scenario. I want to be NOTHING like my dad. He was a real ass. He
used to hit my mother and crap like that. However, he was a very intellegent
man. I get my temper from my father. I'm prone to provoked fits of violence. I
get my oddball sense of humor from mom. She raised me on a steady diet of shows
like "In Livin' Color", The Arsenio Hall Show, "Saturday Night Live" (back when
the show was really good, in the early 90s), and she introduced me to comedians
like George Carlin and Richard Pryor. Although I was young (still am; I'm
only 24), people that are ten or so years older than me could have conversations
with me. I am a lot older than my age. My mother passed when I was twelve so I
had to grow up kinda quick. My "male
genetic donor" was nowhere in my life except in my infancy. My grandparents
basically raised me (kinda like Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru). I guess that
attributes to my love of the "old school". That's why I like the Star Wars Saga
so much, it's almost like my life story, in a sense.
Peace,
Raman
