Saw Elizabeth on Friday and was blown away by the stunning actress who
played Norfolk's mistress and just had to find out who she was. So
through a few searches i've found Amanda and this group and from now
will be keeping an eye out for more appearances of the most sexy and
beautiful actress i've seen for quite a long time.

Hope Amanda's career becomes as big and successful as her beauty and
talent deserves.

For a made for TV movie, Britannic was great. It's fair to say that if
James Cameron had never made Titanic Britannic would never have been
made. But Amanda is great in this. It's also a great family movie with
the two children in it to whom Amanda is governess. She asks the
children to help her fight off pirates. Of course it's 1916 and it's
more likely to be Long John Silver or Captain Hook than Jack Sparrow or
Captain Barbossa.

Not much of an Eastenders viewer myself, but happened to spot Amanda
Ryan appearing as 'Verity Wright'
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verity_Wright) on the evening of Friday

So guess I'm going to be watching Eastenders some more :)

I saw the play at milton keynes Keynes theatre, it's not bad, it's
set in 1975(the play that is, not milton keynes theatre). some really
funny lines in the play.
I had mistakenly thought I was going to see ballet
you see, me and the missus had bought tickets for both, so i got all
the dates mixed up, (ballet next month). It'll have to go some to
beat last nights performance. :ŹD

Subject: IMDB is listing Amanda as appearing in Red Mercury

Red Mercury is shown with a status on IMDB as 'Post-Production'
(updated 21 Feb 2005). Amanda is playing Electra (the waitress).

The possibly over-detailed plot description on IMDB is as follows:

"Three young Muslim men, part of a terror cell, are making a bomb in
a London flat, when they get a call to vacate immediately with their
gear. The police have been alerted and they are under suspicion.
Asif, Shahid and Mushtaq grab suitcases, the computer, and a
cardboard box containing bomb making equipment and bolt out the
door. Shahid's getaway car is clamped so the three are forced to
escape on foot from the pursuing police. Cornered, they dive into a
restaurant on a busy city street. It is the Olympus Grill and dinner
is being served to its well-heeled clientele. With the police
outside, Asif, Shahid and Mushtaq have nowhere to go. Mushtaq,
thinking quickly, declares that they will hold the restaurant goers
hostage. The diners are forced to get up from their tables where
they have been enjoying the delicious Greek cuisine. They are lined
up against a wall. Electra, the young waitress, is also forced to
stand in line. Her mother, who is the restaurant owner, comes out
from the kitchen brandishing a rolling pin to find out what is going
on. She is Penelope and a rather formidable woman. Penelope at first
thinks the three boys want to steal money until they reveal their
true intentions. Outside a sophisticated police/MI5 operation is
underway to release the hostages. Leading the operation is Sofia
Warburton, a 45 year old woman with a strong character, who has
sacrificed domestic harmony for her career in the security services.
Sofia begins to assemble data gleaned by the police and information
from voice samples and fingerprints to create a profile of the
hostage takers. She discovers that Shahid, from a single-parent
family, grew up in a rough working class Birmingham council estate,
and was a bad boy until he found religion. Asif got a double first
in Natural Sciences at Cambridge. He was brought up by his widower
father who was prone to beating his kids. Asif works at his father's
wine warehouse and was a good taster until he took up Islam and.
Mushtaq is the natural leader of the three and has a PhD in physics.
The big fear is learning that the terrorists are in possession of
red mercury which can be used to make a dirty bomb with the
potential of unleashing untold damage and horror. The three youths
have the knowledge and skills to make the bomb. Sofia checks the
physics with her estranged husband Lindsey who confirms that it is
possible. Time is of the essence. Meanwhile, inside the restaurant
tension mounts as the hostages remain under threat of death from the
three gun wielding terrorists. The hostages are: Sidney, a middle-
aged American management consultant, Amanda, a 34 year old
physiotherapist, Neil Ashton, a children's author and his wife
Gerry, his daughter Jemma who is a nurse and his adopted mixed-race
son Timothy; John, 45, head of a large chemical company and his
mistress Janet. And strangely, as days go by and nerves are frayed,
the barriers between the hostages and their captors begin to come
down. Behind the blank face of terror is scared, confused, and
misled youth."

It isn't clear to me from IMDB whether this is a made for TV movie
or not (although I have my suspicions).

As usual, if anyone has anymore information regarding this,
please "share with the group"

cheers

I could be wrong but I swear that the new McCain Oven Fries TV Ad in
the UK has Amanda Ryan in it at the end.

The theme of the add is: 'Heaven is'. I've been trying to record it
but never manage to catch it. Can you all keep an eye out for it and
let me know if I'm right. I've definitely seen it on ITV and ITV2 and
possibly Five.

As usual, bonus point for screen capture or mpg of the ad.

The production company was StoneCity - they have some info, an Amanda
thumbnail, and a clip (without Amanda in it) at:

http://www.stonecity.co.uk/productions.html

their description of the program:
A powerful factual drama about the most audacious identity fraud scam
this decade and the intense two-year investigation that brought it to
trial. In an era of electronic anonymity and rapidly escalating ID
crime, the story exposes the most sophisticated and distressing
features of this complex, multi-million pound scam. A worrying real-
life twenty-first century thriller.

also, verbatim from
http://www.in4mer.com/programming_c4.asp?period=tC4October

Stealing Lives [HWChil] - Don't Miss
Fact-based drama examining the growing problem of identity fraud -
one of Britain's fastest growing crimes - revealing how a group of
young Nigerian men, living in the UK for over 10 years, set up a
complex multi-million pound scam involving stealing the identities of
dozens of people. By opening up hundreds of bank and building society
accounts in the victims' names they withdrew the most money possible,
leaving the victims with a legacy of bad debt.

To explore this growing problem, Stealing Lives tells the story of a
police investigation into a trail of shattered lives and defrauded
banks which led to a gang of compulsively driven young men, and a
young policewoman from Essex who spent two years doggedly pursuing a
case against them. The clever, charming leader of the gang first
laughingly dismissed her and then threatened her to breaking point.

Behind the drama lie the fundamental aspects of identity. From the
anonymous IT statistics we've all become on the screens of big
institutions, to the culture-clash between economically excluded
African nations and the exploitable debt-culture of the West. Through
the details of this extraordinary case, the film questions how we
define ourselves and what makes us who we are.

The film reveals how the scam was perpetrated and explores the
motivations that led the offenders to commit such an audacious crime.
Events are based on actual incidents recorded on police statements
and court records.

Amanda Ryan is featuring quite heavily in the adverts for channel 4's
forthcoming 'Stealing Lives' to be shown at 22:00 on tuesdays.
Nothing on channel 4 website under search for 'Stealing Lives', but
the TV Listings for next tuesday include:

22:00 Stealing Lives [subtitles]
A gripping, fact-based drama about one of the fastest-growing crimes
in Britain today: identity fraud.

I noticed in the advert for it that Amanda seems to be using a
strong accent - possibly Northern.

I'm sure we'd all be interested if anyone discovers more information -
  so keep your eyes peeled...

I first saw her in the TV series attachments and then in the

If this actress does not get more & better parts in the future it

I also really like Nora-Jayne Noone (from the movie: The Magdalene
