Pink Floyd drummer, Nick Mason's bio about the legendary psychedelic
rock band Pink Floyd, has been adapted for the silver screen by
screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich / Confessions of a
Dangerous Mind.)

"I've been a fan of theirs for years. After reading Mason's book, I
knew I just had to do this project," Kaufman said.

Cameron Crowe (Fast Times at Ridgemont High / Almost Famous) is set
to direct.

"I have been a fan of theirs for years. Once I heard about Syd's
untimely passing, I knew I had to finally do this movie. Pink Floyd
practically invented psychedelic rock, it's time they get the credit
they deserve," Crowe said.

The film will follow the lives of 5 young lads as they go from a
house band in the wild 60s London scene to epic pop superstars.

"I was really attracted to how visual their music is. I really wanted
to capture the mood of the era. I really love quirky, visual stories
about real people," Kaufman said.

Johnny Depp, Ashton Kutcher, Callum Blue (Dead Like Me) and Sir Bob
Geldof (Pink Floyd's The Wall / Live 8) are also set to appear in the
film, due out in 2008.
