Description

Welcome to
ADAM BEACH: Soul and Spirit, a Yahoo Group dedicated to the Canadian actor, Adam Beach.

Adam Beach was born November 11, 1972 in Ashern, Manitoba, Canada of Salteaux descent and has honoured his heritage throughout his career in film and on television. Beginning in Manitoba Theatre for Young People, his first big break was in the miniseries, "Lost in the Barrens" at age 18. After that, he made various tv guest appearances in such shows as "Walker, Texas Ranger", "Touched by an Angel" and was a regular on "North of 60". Other work included Disney's "Squanto: A Warrior's Tale", "Lonesome Dove", "My Indian Summer", "Prey", "A Boy Called Hate" and "Dance Me Outside". Along came "Smoke Signals" in 1998, memorable tragi-comic role which garnered many awards and nominations at Sundance Film Festival. More work came Adam's Way after that, titles such as "Mystery, Alaska", "The Last Stop", "The Art of Woo", "Joe Dirt", "Windtalkers", "Skinwalkers", "Coyote Waits" and "The Dead Zone" in which he was in the episode "Shaman" as the leading role. Then came the phenomenal Clint Eastwood "Flags of Our Fathers" where he played the real-life role of Ira Hayes, one of the many young soldiers in the Pacific World War Two theatre lost to grief and desperation after the war ended. Adam's riveting performance attracted the attention of producer Dick Wolf and he cast him in the HBO film "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" as Charles Eastman and then as Brooklyn Detective Chester Lake in his "Law Order: Special Victim's Unit" on NBC, of which he had been signed to for three years but recently departed after one. Whatever the project, Adam always adds his unique style, grace and professionalism.

Feel free to introduce yourself, share photos, articles, etc. and let's have fun discussing the versatile career of one of Canada's best talents!
