I had my greatest experience with a film this Saturday in Anthology. They
were showing, as part of the Essential Cinema series, "The Flowers of St.
Francis" with no subtitles. I had seen it last year, it was already one of
my favorite films but what it gave me this time had never happened before,
my heart kept beating hours after the film. The only comparable experience I
had was again with the greatest artist of cinema, on his film "Viaggio in
Italia".
Anthology Film Archives should be worshipped for showing such a great film,
every year, with no subtitles...
Since then I found "My Method" on a used-book store. I am constantly amazed
at Rossellini's intuitive grasp of anything and everything. Have you read
it?
I will try to write a post about THE FLOWERS of "St. Francis" sometime. The
purpose of this one is to ask for help:
I'll do anything, stealing included, for a video of any movie/documentary he
made that was meant to be shown on TV, especially if it is without
subtitles.
New York Public Library has a copy of "Messiah" on VHS, so I'll go see that;
they also have "Louis XIV", which I have seen, on 16mm. I found this website
that has "Blaise Pascal" but unfortunately it's with subtitles:

Suggestions please?
