The Sitcom Trials 2008 season is getting into gear. It's going to be a very
exciting new set of shows, in a very exciting new venue, with some very exciting
people getting involved.Fans of the Trials will remember we just won the Fringe
Report Award for Best Encouragers of New Talent. Added to this you'll be
delighted to hear that last year's winning sitcom, Sweet As, is in development
with Sitcom Trials Grand Finals judge Geoff Posner's Pozzitive Productions. All
of this has meant people are taking us even more seriously than they did before,
and the partners coming on board for the 2008 season are really rather
impressive.Of course there won't be any shows if we don't get some amazing
sitcom scripts entered into the competition. And getting your script in early
could be a distinct advantage to you. As well as being considered for The Sitcom
Trials shows which will be staged in the autumn in London's glittering West End,
there are plans in discussion for other ways scripts might be developed. So get
something in now, and you never know what could happen next. This year's Sitcom
Trials season is being produced by the producers of the 2007 season, Declan Hill
and Simon Wright. In the first instance you should check out their specific
Writers Guidelines at http://every1sacritic.com then email your scripts, or
questions, to them at info@... sure you join the Sitcom
Trials Facebook group and stay tuned to the Myspace page for news and
updates.Oh. And one more thing. This year - I'm back. Having given The Sitcom
Trials a rest in 2006, and given Declan & Simon my blessing to revive the show
in 2007, I'm sufficiently inspired to put on my sitcom development hat once
more. It's now 5 years this month since the TV series, and 3 years this month
since the Hollywood Sitcom Trials and the last Sitcom Trials national tour.
Maybe this will be the year that the Trials gets back on the small screen. Stay
tuned. (And while you're doing that, get writing!)Kev FExecutive Producer &
