I'm a fight choreographer as well as a screenwriter and I think I can
answer this one. No, you do not have to detail out exactly what you
want. If there are key images you have or moments you want, those are
always helpful to the choreographer, but don't waste your time going
into too much detail. A lot depends on what the actor is able
to/comfortable doing. It's perfectly valid to just put, <Fight>.
Anecdote: I worked a while back with a guy named Bob Anderson. Bob was
the fight choreographer for The Princess Bride. He says that the only
thing written in the script for the swordfight in that movie was "And
then they fought the greatest swordfight ever captured on film." And
you can see what came of that.
