WRITEMOVIES.COM NEWSLETTER
We are in our seventh year of helping writers find representation, to option or
sell their screenplays to major production companies. We have also helped
novelists secure publishing deals and playwrights get produced. Out of close to
three hundred "contest sites," WriteMovies.com is one of only a handful that has
actually made a movie from a contest winning project. Writer's Digest has twice
voted us one of the top four screenwriting sites.
We are always on the hunt for that golden project that we can help take from
page to screen. Marcus Folmar, a WriteMovies.com winner, has experienced this
level of success with I'mPerfect (aka The List), starring Wayne Brady and Sydney
Tamiia Poitier. The film is currently in post-production and has been entered in
the Sundance Film Festival. Check out I'mPerfect at imdb.com.
-First Place Prize: $3000 in cash and guaranteed representation.
-Up to $1 Million in option monies from the A-List producers we work with.
-We will fly the winner to Los Angeles and pay for their accommodation, so that
he/she can meet with several producers, agents, executives, managers, etc.
-We will submit the top projects to the production companies & studios. You keep
ALL the option/sales money.
-Top 3 will receive $1000 in free consulting for the winning project. -Top 3
will receive Final Draft software.
-Outstanding novels will also be submitted to publishing houses in the U.S. and
Europe.
-Outstanding plays will also be submitted to theatres in the US and Europe.
Plus, we will pitch the top three entries, to:
-High ranking executives at the major studios and production companies.
-A minimum of ten production companies (such as Castle Rock, Bruckheimer Films,
Scott Rudin Prods.)
-Additionally, we submit your material to non-US companies to increase your
chances of a sale.
-Plug the name and project of the winners in press releases and on the web.
We are accepting a maximum of 1,000 entries and will close the contest once that
number has been reached. Be sure not to miss the boat.
