Found one of the very few online images of Kay Laurel (Olive's
evil nemisis so to speak) out there. It's her portrait done by Will
Glackens. Oddly enough if it wasn't for Kay's enemy-ship with
Olive she wouldn't have any real coverage on the internet. This
little groups has pretty much all the Kay Laurel pix available on
the net as far as I can tell.

In other news I just eBayed a nearly mint copy of Marjorie
Farnsworth's Ziegfeld Follies book this past month. The book is
so mint it still has the cellophane library dust jacket wrapper on it
, but no markings to indicate it was a library book.

Amazing how the passage of times has the 1950s when that
book was written further in the past than the run of the Ziegfeld
follies was to the people of the 1950s. For all the 1950's
pretensions of modernity the time seems about as ancient to
(some of ) us as the Ziegfeld days.

I guess I'm a bit moody over the passing of Johnny Carson. I
grew up in the 1980s watching him. It's kinda rough watching all
the people from your past start to die off...
