Working from memory, so forgive me if I am wrong.
The photo is of Jack and Marilyn Miller. While I do not have a better
resolution photograph, I would refer you to the scrapbooks at the NY
Public Library among other places with an article from 1923(?) about
the newlyweds. This and another photograph showing the couple playing
badmitton(?) in the yard are included. However, it is listed as on La
Cienenga(?) Blvd in the article.
This location is also the new house that Jack bought for he and Ollie
in late 1919. By this time, Jack had been discharged from the Navy,
completed his contractual obligation for three pictures (as part of
Mary's contract) and signed a three year contract with Goldwyn.
Previously, he and Ollie stayed on Long Island renting Ray
Hitchcock's home for the summer. Once he signed with Goldwyn, Jack
was in California most of the time while Ollie worked with Selznick,
based on the east coast & lacking studio space, who sent our girl to
make movies anywhere they could arrange it, including periods in
California. Jack surprised her with the house when she returned but
it was listed as his residence until his death though it is debatable
as to how long he lived there.
Again could be wrong.
