First, congratulations on some very fine research. I have tried
chasing down some information on Harrison Fisher and am very
impressed by what you have uncovered.

As for Ollie being the model in the illustration in question, I have
doubts. According to Krough Thomas' interview in 1931, Ollie proposed
to him when she believed her family considered moving away in 1911
due to a disruption in the railroad and was threatening to move to a
farm. Their wedding certificate states they married on April Fools
Day, 1911. Some of Ollie's later interviews and the comments of
Krough Thomas suggested she worked at Horne's Emporium until well
into 1912 when Ollie abruptly quit. Court documents which are
available through the Office of the Prothonotary in Allegheny County
suggest that Ollie filed for divorce from New York City in January
1914 but that the couple separated in November or December 1913. An
uncontested divorce was granted in Feb 1915 to Ollie because Krough
Thomas was never served the summons. He followed Ollie to NYC in a
futile attempt to win Ollie back.

Once in NYC, most sources suggest Ollie worked as an artist's model
and as a salesgirl in a Harlem department store. Sometime in the
summer of 1914, Ollie won a newspaper contest (possibly the New York
Evening Mail) as the most beautiful salesgirl in New York. Among the
prizes Ollie won was a sitting with Howard Chandler Christy. In the
summer of 1915 or during the height of her sensation with the
Follies, a very complimentary article on Ollie was authored by
Harrison Fisher denying that he called her the most beautiful woman
in the world. After the public end of her affair with Flo Ziegfeld,
Ollie was often listed as being a model for Conde' Nast while still
appearing nightly in the Follies. During this period, Ollie began
working also in films for International Film Service and Famous
Players. She was also engaged for a short period to a person never
definitely identified other than a scion of a famous family.

Personally, I have doubts about Ollie appearing in this Fisher work
but what do I know?! The above are only the highlights or the
information that can be confidently confirmed. However, one thing
that can certainly said about Ollie is that her life was never, NEVER
determined by the highlights!

Ollie's life is dominated by the happy happenstance... being in the
right place at the right time. Ollie's film career should have been
DOA at Triangle except that D.W. Griffith was running out the door as
she entered and the other girls signed at the same time walked out!
Who would have agreed to sign with a underaged kid except she knew
the name Selznick from Pittsburgh? Her appearance in "A Girl Like
That" was so unimpressive that she was billed as "Alice Thomas"
except that she was cast as Owen Moore's bothersome little sister...
the same Owen Moore who was Mr Mary Pickford and more importantly,
Jack Pickford's very close friend. I doubt that she would have had a
Broadway career except Flo Ziegfeld was at the 60 club the night she
appeared after winning the contest. Dumb luck, huh?

Further, note that Ollie was also listed as an artist's model at the
time she won the infamous contest. I have no idea how but it is
listed too often to be dismissed out of hand.

So while I have my doubts but it appears Ollie was in NYC working as
an artist's model at sometime. Ollie herself does talk about going
away on a trip to NYC with her friends during her first marriage.
Might well be worth looking in the Pittsburgh papers to see if
Harrison Fisher was ever in the Pittsburgh area also.

It is still worth looking into and I wish you good luck.

P.S. On an unrelated note, you might be interested in reading on
Justine Johnstone who was never happy as a showgirl and worked to
improve herself. Her husband became a very famous producer and she
dropped out of the highlife to do summer stock to improve herself as
an actress in the early 20's. She eventually became a highly
respected medical researcher assisting on one of the early cures for
syphilis and medical defibrilators.
