OOC: Ok, I've finally got a day off. The first one in more than a week
and actually I still have to work, just from 4-6. Ugh. I'm in the
process of getting stuff together and figuring everything out for my
move to Georgia in December. At that time, I may not have internet for
a while, but I'll let you all know when that occurs. For now, enjoy
what I can manage to spit out here. Love!
BIC: Gray ears fluttered and twitched as dark lids gently opened.
Bright light filtered through the den opening, casting a brilliant
yellow hue upon each form within. Her black nose came alive, bringing
to the hybrid the increasingly familiar smells of the pups, the
collie, and the human (is Fire Eyes still there??.
Husky's powerful jaws parted in a massive yawn, yellowed fangs
glistening with saliva. She had awoken in time to watch the human make
his way out the entrance and for a moment it left her confused. Where
was he going? Suddenly, she had realized the fresh scent of rabbit and
it made her mouth water in hunger. With it, mixed the thick stench of
lupine, standing her hackles at attention along her thin, emaciated
frame. All these things hit her at once and it struck up a sense of
curiosity, an urge to exit the den for the first time in what felt
like weeks. Her strength was slowly returning and she could already
begin to feel like her old self again.
Slowly, the bi-colored wolf mix lifted herself to her feet, but not
before stretching out her limbs. A groan escaped her maw as she arched
her back, popping a few vertebrate along her spine. She quickly gave
her thinning coat a firm shake, her thick plume curling gently over
her haunches. Her ice-blue hues rested on the mother across the room,
her head tilting just a bit before muzzle turned towards the direction
the human had traveled. Was he planning on venturing out on his own?
Especially so soon after an intruder had threatened all their lives?
Surely, it was not safe and that man would not be able to protect
himself against a beast so large and blood-thirsty.
Wolfhusky had made her decision and with no more than a glance in
Sybrix's direction, her form had disappeared out the exit. The cold
hit her in a cloud of bitterness as she reached the outside. Ears
twist to the side, brows furrowing slightly as she realized how used
she had grown to the warmth of the cozy den. Suddenly, her senses went
wild as three (?) carcasses lay at her feet, freshly killed and
looking so delicious. She couldn't help the saliva as it thickened
around her lips and began to drip from her jowls.
She slowly circled the rabbits, the snow damp and cold beneath her
paws. Her mind was going crazy as it fought with itself. She wanted to
taste that warm flesh, feel the blood flow down her throat, but she
felt this uncanny guilt as well. There were three here, and 4 mouths
to feed, not counting the tiny newborns inside. Why was she being so
considerate?! This was unlike her and it flustered her to know that
these beings were changing her without her even being conscious of the
fact.
With a snort of disgust at herself, she stiffly turned away from the
food, shoving her greedy hunger to the back of her mind. She trotted-
as best a wolfdog could with a useless cast on one leg-towards John
and Omara. The wolf's scent was welcoming and almost sweet. Husky felt
no threat from this female, even as she laid a paw upon the man's
hand. She paused for a moment, her large head lowering and pointed
sonars tilting back ever so slightly as she closely studied this
unusual moment between these two very different species.
When the thickness in the air seemed to have settled, she continued
forward slowly, quietly. The mutt came up from behind the man, her
ears still back in gentle submission (OOC: whoa!). As she reached his
side, Husky brought her cold, damp nose to his hand, gently poking it.
Her ears flew forward then as she gazed up at him, tail tip twitching
slightly. Her cerulean eyes were deep with emotion as she awaited his
attention.
'You will not wander around here alone!' He had been generous enough
to take her battered self in, caring for her in a gentle matter she
was unfamiliar with. The least she could do in return was offer him a
form of protection, no matter how frail her frame still seemed.
OOC: That's all I could come up with for today. I feel back on the
ball, but Husky definitely feels changed. I'm sure I'm not the only
one who's noticed.
