Minutes of SAMM Meeting of 11/8/07

The members okayed exploring with Dick Brain of the San Francisco Amateur Movie Makers the possibility of holding the inter-club contest which was recently cancelled in Saacramento at his place of residence, the San Francisco Towers, in S.F.

This decision resulted from a phone call from Bernie Wood of the San Jose movie club, reporting that at their recent meeting when asked how many members would attend the inter-club in January in Sacramento, the response was no one. Members cited the distance to Sacramento and the cold weather in January. Bernie believes that if the contest were held in SF, members from all the bay area clubs would attend. We are writing to Dick Brain to find out if he would agree to holding the contest at the SF Towers. It would still be sponsored by SAMM.

Erick Lorenz reported that he has been occupied with other matters but believes he can finish "Stingy Jack" by January 2008. He also showed us a number of excellent still photos taken during Halloween night showing a variety of carved and lighted pumpkins displayed on front porches in his neighborhood.

Bernie Scoville talked about the possibility of showing SAMM movies on YouTube which was of interest to the membership.
