The first scene of Stingy Jack (SJ) will be shot on
Tuesday, July 3. This will be the scene where Jack
steals turnips from the farmer.
The location will be the Riverdog Farm near Brooks in
the Capay Valley. This is west of Woodland and north
of Esparto.
West Ramsey will be playing Jack and Janice Gutshall
will be playing the farmer. We are shooting at
Riverdog Farm because they actually have turnips
growing for market. They are very interested in our
project and have given us total cooperation.
We will assemble for the shoot after 5:00 PM so that
West doesn't have to miss work.
I have asked Duke to do the camera work for this scene
as he lives close by (actually he just moved to
Davis.) If anyone else wants to take part we can
always use the help. We could use someone to hold a
mic boom, reflectors, and the slate. If you think you
could come out let me know and I will send you
directions.
I am also trying to organize the next shoot for
Thursday or Friday (5th or 6th.) This will be the
"heaven" scene at the Water Temple in Woodside. All
will depend on whether West and Kat Monda are
available. If so I want to get an early start so that
we can have sunlight from the east for the shoot.
Weekends are next to impossible for this site. As
soon as I have a cast and crew committed I need to
check with the Water District to make sure someone
hasn't reserved the site. I hope we can do it soon
because West's work situation is changing and he may
not be as free to take a day off later.
I still haven't set a date for the shoot in Volcano
but West and I did scout the site and I think we can
do all the scenes that involve the Demon there. The
cave of course for the gateway to the underworld
scene, a storefront in Volcano for the tavern scene,
and the park across the street for the tree scene and
various paths and rural settings. Hopefully that
means we can do all of the Demon scenes in one day.
This could be on a weekend although I am informed that
the area is noisier then what with tourist traffic and
a possibility of amplified sound at nearby events. In
any case a large crew would be nice as the logistics
will be more complex. I will keep you posted.
