Herb Bennett's excellent projector showed us sites Erick Lorenz hopes to use in filming "The Legend of the Jack-o-Lantern." One multi-columned, white structure can be the gateway to heaven. (Jack doesn't get in because of past misdemeanors) We are looking for an entrance to hell. Cave entrances lend themselves to the time-honored concept of the lower regions. If you know of any caves close to Sacramento, tell Erick. Also an apple tree which a demon could climb is a needed prop. So how can we simulate one? Ideas welcome. Thanks to Erick's teaching video editing to Access teachers we can use their studio if needed. We hope to find an actor to play Jack. One who will be scruffy, mischevious and wily but likeable. Because of site schedules we may have to shoot some scenes during the week instead of our usual weekends. Erick took us page by page through the JOL script to help us understand the plot and the locations needed.
Locations for the September/October Interclub contest which we will host are still being sought. Sue and I found the Belle Cooledge Community Center to be available. It is easy for out-of- towners to find and has a kitchen. We plan to investigate the Los Ninos building which is located behind the Sacramento Children's Home on Sutterville and Franklin Blvd.
Bernie will teach Inline Skating this weekend. Call him for details.
Dues are due. The Access Office is open until 7PM on Thursday nights.
