Erick, I have some footage of puffy clouds. Will bring them to see if it's what you're looking for.

I am working on some interesting locations for "Jack". Some of the may require a bit of travel. For instance one of the two Water Temples in the Bay Area might make a great "heaven's gate". There are some caves and mines in the gold country, open the the public which we might be able to use for the path to the underworld. Anyone with a nice patio and kitchen could host the kids and parent's scene.I am still looking for a building that could pass as a medieval tavern and a tree by a path in a rural setting for the apple tree.I spent an afternoon this week teaching a class on iMovie to the staff of Access Sacramento. As a result I think we have an in with them for use of the studio. I was told that the studio is closed to broadcast productions on Fridays so that would be a good day to use it for any special effects work that we need.I also got an email from them announcing that Access Sacramento's channel 17 is now being streamed to the web. This means that it could grab a bigger audience. All the more reason to find ways to get our past work on the air.The annual "Place Called Sacramento" cast and crew call is coming up. I have permission to recruit cast for Jack there if I announce that SAMM members are welcome to audition for crew on PCS projects. As for costumes, if we don't recruit any cast from Janice's country dance group we might still be able to borrow some period clothing from them. I want a black or dark brown monk's robe for the demon and a nice blue or white choir robe for heaven's guardian. If anyone with a video camera notices a sky full of puffy clouds you could video them for one of the scenes. One way to do this would be to mount your camera on a tripod and slowly pan across the sky at medium telephoto so as not to get any ground or other objects in the shot. Try a vertical pan and/or a horizontal pan. I will demonstrate what I mean at the meeting but just in case the best sky is next week see what you can do. The idea is to create a background for a scene where Jack is falling down from heaven. If I can get footage of clouds going by I can composite Jack into the scene using green screen.I will try to have the script completed by Thursday. Suggestions are welcome.ErickOn May 3, 2007, at 4:12 PM, Sue White wrote:
In the past we have discussed holding a filming contest in order to advertise SAMM to the public by offering prizes to filming enthusiasts who would enter such a contest. Getting to know our club members and seeing our prize winners could be an excellent way of adding to our membership. Let's talk about that at the May meeting.A progress report on the Legend of the Jack-o-Lantern production will be of interest to all. Please pay your dues to Access Sacramento. The business office is open until 7PM on Thursdays.Again many thanks for letting us know if you cannot make the meetings. Hope to see you all on the 10th.Bob and Sue White
