Copies of Erick Lorenz' script, "The Legend of Stingy Jack" were e-mailed to members and several extra copies were available at the March meeting. First impressions, even for those who had not read the entire script, was the title. "Stingy Jack." It was deemed not descriptive of the protagonist, but a substitute name like "Shifty Jack" seemed more appropriate to the tale. He is seen as a con man type and he does stay out of hell which is no little achievement. The initial dialogue between the father and children, unless performed by brilliant actors, should be shortened.. Also, the magic of changing the demon into a sixpence sounded interesting and more of same recommended. Erick wrote a good script and it should be fun to produce.
We hope Erick's choral performance at Mondavi hall was a success. and that Herb's birthday dinner was excellent.
Duke has been editing his film, now titled, "The Hotel Guest" and will be showing it at the Davis Film Festival at 1:45 PM on Saturday April 7, 2007. The Festival will take place at the Veteran's Memorial Theater, 203 14th Street in Davis. Good luck, Duke.
Duke told of us of another project, a one minute film which must tell a story without characters, humans or animals. He has used an ingenious method for recording his story within the above limits. We will look forward to viewing it.
Bernie has vowed to begin editing his Inline Skating tapes, and will call upon other members if he needs assistance.
Best of all the April Meeting will be on APRIL 12, 2007. No longer will members have to deal with the meeting date occuring so soon after the first of the month.
Thanks for letting us know when you cannot attend meetings.
See you in April, Bob and Sue White.
