We welcomed the opportunity to once again see Duke's excellent film, The Best Things in Life...Plus One Thing More." Thanks to Herb Bennetts' new projector we could see on the large screen many details not visible at the showing in Santa Clara. The winning film from the Viewfinders Club, "Maybe Today." was viewed with appreciation for their skillfully created production.
The final showing was the amazing DVD record of Jeff Thompson's fifty mile, four day walking tour of Mono Lake. His seventy pound pack carried his tent, cooking equipment, clothing, tripod and camera equipment. We saw many aspects of the lake not visble to the casual observer thanks to Jeff's detailed record of the lakes origins and subseqent changes. Overheads created by Google Earth showed us different angles of the lake . Good work, Jeff. We were all impressed with your project.
Finally, the letter from Bernie Woods, president of the San Jose club, was read by each member , SAMM would like to go on record reciprocating Bernie's supportive comments to include Jan Jose and all of the bay area clubs we have shared friendly competition. We are pleased to be a part of NCCAMC and look forward to our future competitions and meetings.
