The May SAMM meeting was well attended and included some excellent DVD's from the following: Jeff Thompson left his car at Cisco Grove, climbed about 1800 ft to the top where he filmed lots of snow, the surounding peaks and ended with a winning picture of his wiggling toes which needed a rest after the ascent; next Herb Bennett showed a DVD of a long ago wedding which he had originally shot on 8mm and thanks to Erick Lorenz, using a Go Co film converter, we were able to view the wedding like it was the original; later Erick explained how the converter worked and thanks to a prism and other technology, the old problem of different film speeds was solved Bosko showed us slideshow of his and Greta's trip to Venice. The pictures and the accompanying music were excellent; Sue White presented a DVD slideshow of a recent wedding in Oregon; Duke McAdow showed a DVD of people of Hawaiian ancestry who were protesting the closing of a private school in the Islands. It was colorful and interesting to learn about the law suit claiming discrimination which gave rise to the demonstration.
Bernie and his friend Bobby attemded. Bernie gave us an update on his recent stint of returning to work as a retired annuitant plus an update on his on-line skating activities. He would like to have that group's activities filmed.
Erick handed out a scenic outline of a script by Marilyn Mantay and asked for feedback from SAMM members.
We hope on June 8, 2006 we can see more of the excellent DVD's that made the May meeting so enjoyable. Bob and Sue White
