Fellow Sacramento Email Group members,

What is the best DVD creating and editing software for a PC?  I want
to have menus and chapters and other DVD features.  I want an easy to
use program that is not too expensive.

The Sony software with my camcorder does not work on my PC.

I read in a Camcorder magazine that Roxie was very good.  It mainly
generated error messages on my computer.
I avoid Roxio as I would the Plague.  Very domineering software, if you have any similar programs
on the computer, it will cause headaches (none of those applications will run).

TD at Access Sacramento recommends Nero 6 or 7.  It was not at Fry's
when I went.
I have Nero 6, it can burn DVD video, but I haven't seen any menu/chapter/editing creation on it.

Any recommendations?
I'm trying out Ulead Video Studio, the SE or shrimpy version right now.
You can import and assemble video clips into a movie, title it, add transitions.
Then export it to DVD with custom splash screen that you choose and titles of different movies.
You can also add a music track that plays on that main menu.

My continuing  and only problem with it, is that my movies are played back as if zoomed in---
in other words just a small center section of the video plays, quite pixelated.
It's probably just my %$#@ buggy computer's fault.

Cheers,  Jeff

P.S.:    I just finished archiving all of my Hi8 tapes onto DVD.  Some tapes were going bad.
Just ordered Canopus' ADVC-300 stand-alone analog-digital-analog converter.  Kinda pricey.
AVOID the ADS PyroA/VLink at all costs........piece of junk.
