A TIME TO RUN ~ Erick Lorenz attended a meeting of the Alchemist Community Development Organization and showed "A Night on the River" which was applauded. He met a homeless person there who said she might help do a separate documentary, not a docu-drama, on the homeless who in real life are reluctant to talk about why they are homeless. There are a number of professional documentary films on the homeless which took months to complete. That is, the photographers lived with the homeless as they filmed their plight.
On March 31, the commentary on "A Time To Run" was videotaped at the Access studio. We were fortunate to have Sheila Hirsch, the Clinical Director of New Pathways Counseling Program, Catholic Social Service, as the commentator. Professional, articulate and reading from her well-prepared script she highlighted the dangers often shown by violent-prone men. She named resources where endangered women can receive help. In addition Katrina Lindhom, a social work graduate intern. engaged in a dialogue about ATTR with Sheila citing her own areas of interest.
