Our hosting the Filming for Fun on Saturday April 23,2005 was discussed with these results. The event will be held at the Sudwerk Restaurant on Second Street in Davis.(more details and a map will be provided) If there are more than thirty attending the restaurant will serve a buffet luncheon. If fewer than thirty luncheon will be ordered off the menu. A $100.00 will be charged for the room which will be available from 11:30AM until 3;30PM. In order to leave enough time for the video showing, lunch may have to start at 11 :30. Bernie Wood, did you tell me that the council will pick up the room charge? And will the council bring the projectors and other equipment? The deadline for submission of videos and DVDs will be Saturday, April 2, 2005. Mail or deliver checks, entry forms and videos or DVDs to Robert White, 2351 Glen Ellen Circle, Sacramento,95822 Phone (916) 392-0827.
We welcomed Raymond Dussault who attended for the first time. He is a writer, a former Navy E5 who served in the nuclear propulsion section of a submarine. He is an army brat, he said, whose father, a sergeant, served two hitches in Viet Nam as a door gunner on a helecopter. Ray shared a screen play plot with us and introduced us to an insurance term VIATICALS. Briefly, it means that someone can buy another persons life insurance policy. In his plot a young, and foolish person buys the one million dollar policy of someone fatally ill for a quarter of that amount. The plot thickens when the ill person does not die and the purchaser must repay the mob from whom he has borrowed the money YHou can be sure a lot of hairy stuff is going to happen. Ray is interested in learning the mechanics of video producition. We welcome him to the fold.
A Time to Run VCRs and DVD have been distributed with a view to finding an agency to provide a staff person(s) who will be videotaped commenting on the film and offering advice to those involved with violent men.
