The January Meeting will be held on Thursday January 13, 2005 in the Jamestown room at ACCESS Sacramento, 46th and T Streets, in Sacramento. One item of the agenda will be reports on where the April 23, 2005 Filming For Fun Contest will be held and what progress has been made on securing at least two judges to review and rate the entries.
As for the DVD A Time to Run Run A VHS copy has been given to a teacher Marsha Porter, who plans to show it to some of her McClatchy High School classes to assess how best it can be used to warn young women and girls of the dangers involved in relationships with controlling, violent men. I have given a VHS copy to Darby who is employed by the Volunteer Center of Sacramento. 1111 Howe Ave Suite 600 Phone 567-3100. She said she would provide SAMM with a list of agencies who work with battered women. Our hope is to film a professional person from one of these agencies, willing to comment on the film and offer suggestions and referral sources for women/girls who might already be involved with violent men. We also hope that each of you will be working on a Filming For Fun video which will be at least an hororable mention or better.a winner.
