We received a christmas card from Cyrene Robb telling us that Merle, her husband and long-time member of SAMM, had passed away in April of this year. Merle, an architect, designed bridges for the state of California. His hobby, his beloved Chrysler Imperial, and over the years they attended the annual meetings of those who owned the grand old auto. Merle, a talented film maker made a number of prize-winning films over the years, and fortunately we have many of them preserved on video tape. Merle did not make the transition to video. He and Cyrene moved to Rochester, Minnesota in the mid nineties.  He was in his mid-nineties.

Please put Saturday April 23, 2005 on your calendars as this is the date we willl host the Filming for Fun Contest. It appears now it will be held at the Sudwerk Restaurant in Davis. Details will be sent to Bernie Woods who will mail announcements to all members of the Northern California Movie Council. A further task will be to find two judges to view and rate the movies that will be submitted.

At our meeting  on Thursday, December 9, 2004, Sue White showed an eight minute video of her grandson, Sean Moen, combining still pictures and video segments with a variety of transitions which made it easy and interesting to watch.  Discussion about new equipment, editing software, technology   tc.

January's meeting will be held at Coloma School, 46th and T Streets at 7PM. The name of the room will be included in a later announcement.
