I was at Costco today, and happened to idly look at home (stand-alone)
DVD burners.

As most members know, I am currently limited to a modest computer with
an MPEG-1
7Mb-max analog capture card-- the video captured is okay, but just okay.

Looking at the DVD burners, I entertained the notion of using one of
these units to
capture video through the unit's S-video-in jack. I would assume that
they capture
any video input as the standard DVD 'codec'?
I am also assuming that I could then go to my computer and "rip" the
video off the DVD
to my hard drive and then do the Adobe Premiere thing?

My main curiosity at this point is what data rate/ resolution/ quality
this captured video would be....
anybody know?

Thanks all! Jeff
