Thanks to the efforts of Jan Zacharias of Access Sacramento, SAMM meetings will be held on the second Thursday of each month until October of 2005. The meeting rooms will be designated in our web site (http://samm.netfirms.com and e-mail notices you will receive each month. A reminder also that renewal fees are due Access before January 2005.
At the November meeting the main discussion was about the forthcoming "Filming for Fun Contest" which we will host in April 2005. I was assigned to find out about charges at the Radisson Hotel and to inquire whether or not the site of our earlier Interclub Contest, the Highlander Pub and Restaurant on South Land Park, was available. A phone call to the Highlander announced that the number was no longer in use. As the Radisson lunches would range from $15.95 to $22.00 plus a $100.00 setup fee. The luncheon charges would not include tax or tip.
Bernie Scoville was assigned to see if the Crest Theater would be available for showing the Filming for Fun Entries plus seeing if there was a restaurant located near the Crest where lunch could be served.
Erick Lorenz was assigned to see if the Sudwerk restaurant and an hotel in Davis would be suitable for serving lunch and projecting videos.
Another need for the FFF contest would be to recruit judges who would view all of the entries
and list the six best entries as well the "the best of the best."
Hope to have a reply from WEAVE soon as to whether or not they are interested in adding a trailer to "A Time to Run.
