We all know that Richard was robbed when he didn't win the Oscar for
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and Paul Scofield won for A Man For All
Seasons. Our thoughts were confirmed in 1970 when columnist Joyce
Haber polled the film industry for their personal picks for the
outstanding achievement of the 60's. For the decades Best Performance
by an actor, Richard Burton's George easily outpointed Paul Scofields
Sir Thomas More and every other male Oscar winner from Burt Lancaster
to John Wayne.
I have seen both of these movies and I couldn't agree more with this
statement. Has anybody seen these movies and want to let us know the
difference between the two performances? Please share your thoughts.
