Well, I guess breaking news bumped the segment from Monday's schedule. According
to twitter posts, it has been rescheduled to Tuesday, October 27. Stay tuned...

Just got word through the Twilight Barking network aka Twitter that NBC Nightly
News will be airing a piece on The 101 Dalmatians Musical on Monday, October 26
at 6:30 pm EST. Cruella will be making an appearance!
Segments usually appear on the web once they are aired. Here's the link to the
current video page:

Enjoy!
Hey, folks,
I have no idea how long it will last till the moderators take it down, but catch
LUCY while you can on YouTube. Someone posted the entire movie in several
segments!
Search for Rachel York Lucy or Lucy CBS 2003. The channel is LucilleBallFilms.
ALSO, if you haven't checked out Rachel's website lately, she now has a blog
(Rachel Replies) under Contact. There's also a video interview with her on her
home page re. 101 Dalmatians. She's playing Cruella De Vil - on stilts. :-)
I'm so excited because the tour comes through Boston during Christmas week!
Ciao.
Words can not express how magnificent Rachel is in this role. I went to opening
night of Hello, Dolly! in Boston and she redefined the character. So funny, so
tender, so touching, so jubilant. She commanded that stage, as Dolly must. The
audience went wild!
Here's a link to opening night coverage at BWW:

This woman never ceases to move me in some special, unexpected way. There were
people in the lobby calling her a "superstar." They got that right!
I sincerely hope she gets to play this role on B'way someday soon. Just
phenomenal. But I guess I already said that. :-)
Hey, all,
According to Rachel's website, she will be interviewed by WERS-FM in Boston on
Saturday, June 6 at 1 p.m. (EST) The show is streamed on the web at
www.wers.org, so we can listen live. Woo hoo! She'll be singing "Before the
Parade Passes By" because she's starring in Hello, Dolly! in the Boston area
June 18-27. Then she'll be doing Anything Goes in Kansas City July 13-19.
There are LOTS of new concerts listed, too, including one where she's singing
Judy Garland!
www.rachelyork.net
Cheers. :-)
I just came across this great photo album from Turn of the Century on Webshots.
http://entertainment.webshots.com/album/572043453WHhcSh
You can really appreciate how beautiful the costumes, sets and lighting were
from these pictures. Must have been taken by the production photographer.
Enjoy!
lc
Can't get enough of "I Dreamed a Dream?" Check out Rachel's version on her
website. Now THAT's great song interpretation. :-)

Cheers!
PS - Would love to hear if anyone sees any of her concerts. Colorado Symphony on
April 24, Utah Symphony May 1-2, Tahoe Music Festival July 30.
Hi, all,
Rachel has added several concerts to her schedule.
Here's the latest list:

April 5, Gulf Coast Symphony, Ft. Myers, Florida
April 24, Colorado Symphony, Denver, Colorado
May 1 & 2, Utah Symphony, Salt Lake City, Utah
July 30, Lake Tahoe Music Festival, Truckee, California
There are links on her website for tickets.
Enjoy!
Happy New Year!
Rachel's doing lots of concerts this winter and spring. Check her
website for listings.
The first one with the Minnesota Orchestra opened yesterday and a
glowing review has already appeared:

If anyone gets to see her in any of these cities, please post. :-)
lc
Rachel did a concert with Vox Femina in LA recently. Here's a video of
her singing Defying Gravity from that show.
(Be patient. It loads slowly).
http://www.tigresden.com/voxsensations.html
Wish I had been there!
The Goodman Theatre now has a great video on Turn of the Century up on
its website. It has rehearsal footage and interviews. Rachel looks and
sounds fabulous!
http://goodmantheatre.org/movies/index.aspx?id=854
Enjoy. :-)
Some new video and audio clips of Rachel in performance have been
posted on YouTube. Highly illegal boots, I'm sure, but hey, if they're
there, why not enjoy? :-)
1. Audio of Defying Gravity from the Lake Tahoe concert - A-MAH-zing
2. Audio of All I Ask of You from Lake Tahoe concert - gorgeous
3. Video from Scarlet Pimpernel - not the greatest quality but nice to
see
4. Audio w/slide show of Rachel singing Storybook from Scarlet Pimpernel
Older ones from KMK, Dessa Rose, and Lucy are still there, too, along
with a TV news story on Putting It Together and a promo for Dirty
Rotten Scoundrels. And of course Hannah Montana.
The Goodman Theatre website also has some photos from Turn of the
Century rehearsals in the press room. You can only view the thumbnails,
but you get the idea. They also have a beautiful "poster" type photo up
now on the home page. It's very Fred and Ginger!
Also, Rachel's website says she has won another Best Actress award for
Camelot. From the Travolta Family, no less! I guess the star of
Saturday Night Fever and Hairspray has excellent taste. :-)
Enjoy.
Just saw that Rachel's episode of Hannah Montana titled YET ANOTHER
SIDE OF ME will air on the Disney Channel on Sunday, August 3 at 8 p.m.
It's already playing on Verizon FIOS on demand, under the Kids section,
for free. Very strange. I came across it the other night.
Rachel's really funny - but, of course! And kind of nasty, too. :-)
As with other Disney shows where she's played the villain, though
(think Au Pair II), she gets her due at the end.
According to Rachel's website, she may be returning to Broadway next
season in a new musical called "Turn of the Century." It opens at the
Goodman Theatre in Chicago this fall (see related article on
Playbill.com) and co-stars Jeff Daniels. Tommy Tune directs.
http://www.playbill.com/news/article/118909.html
Yay!!!
Here are concert dates Rachel has booked this summer (from her website):
July 12 - National Symphony Orchestra at Wolf Trap, Vienna, VA. Rachel,
Christiane Noll and Sal Viviano join Marvin Hamlisch as he conducts
This Way to Broadway featuring songs from A Chorus Line and others by
George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and Paul Simon. Outdoor concert is at
8:15 p.m. at the Filene Center.
August 2 - Lake Tahoe Music Festival, California. Rachel guests with
the Reno Philharmonic in Broadway: A Tribute to Andrew Lloyd Weber.
Outdoor concert is at 7 p.m. at Tahoe Donner.
August 15-16 - San Diego Symphony, California. Rachel sings The Best of
Today's Broadway in an outdoor Summer Pops concert conducted by Randall
Craig Fleischer at Marina Park on San Diego Bay.
If anyone goes, please give us a report. :-)
Hey, all,
Someone posted Rachel's Hannah Montana episode on YouTube. It may not
last long, but here's the link.
http://tinyurl.com/4ovf7j
It's called Yet Another Side of Me, and it comes in six parts
altogether. Rachel's in the first at the beginning and the last at the
end.
She plays a big diva pop star named Isis and she's hilarious!!!!
lc
Hey, all,
Rachel's website has some major updates.
There's news of a concert at Lake Tahoe Aug. 2 and one in San Diego
Aug. 15-16. There are also lots of new photos under Concerts & Cabarets
and Candids - some from the Hamlisch concert in NJ, the Metropolitan
Room, and the New Rep Gala. The woman does not take a bad photo!
I finally saw the Comcast commercial. She's also in a print ad for it
that I saw in my weekly store flier. And I spotted her on the My Yahoo!
page a couple of days ago. Pretty cool.
I also attended the New Rep Gala. Rachel gave a sensational
performance. She did her cabaret, but she really cranked it up to
concert level. The audience l-o-v-e-d her. :-)
lc
It was just announced on Playbill.com that Rachel has won the Carbonell
Award for her fabulous performance as Guenevere in CAMELOT!!!! I'm so
glad she has been recognized for her wonderful work. It was a
performance for the ages.
http://www.playbill.com/news/article/116576.html
Congrats Rachel. :-)
I think we should all send notes to her via her website.
lc
The wonderful 2-CD set of "Broadway Showstoppers: Best of the Tonys"
that Rachel recorded live in concert with Peter Nero and the Philly
Pops is available in limited supply to her fans! To learn how to
order a copy, email jan@....
Price is $16 (includes tax and shipping within the US). Shipping out
of the country is extra based on USPS first class rates.
You can hear two cuts from this CD - Don't Cry for Me, Argentina and
Back to Before - on Rachel's website. There is no word whether or not
this recording will be released to the general public. Currently it
is available in the Philly Pops gift shop and through Rachel
directly. Hurry before they're sold out!
I tell you, this is an amazing CD. Rachel, Lisa Vroman and Doug
LaBrecque sound spectacular, alone and together. And Peter Nero is a
genius on the piano. He plays an 18-minute instrumental arrangement
of about two dozen Richard Rodgers songs that you won't believe.
Absolutely fabulous.

Hello, all,
Some cool additions to Rachel's website.
1. More upcoming appearances are listed. I may be repeating some, but
here goes: April 19 with the Colorado Symphony; May 3 with Marvin
Hamlisch at the State Theatre of New Jersey; May 4 at the
Metropolitan Room in NYC (her cabaret "For the Love of It," which is
FANTABULOUS); May 6 at the New Repertory Theatre Gala in
Massachusetts; and May 21 at the Israeli Opera.
2. New photos in her portfolio, the Candids section. Some GREAT shots
of Rachel with other stars at an Alzheimer's Benefit in LA. Also a
couple of nice pics of her singing at the SF Equality Awards that was
held last month. Those are in the Concert section.
3. There is also a Reviews section under the Newsroom, and a Fan Mail
section where Rachel has answered letters!
Check 'em out at www.rachelyork.net. Enjoy.
lc
Someone uploaded the entire LUCY movie onto YouTube - in a dozen or so
segments! For anyone who hasn't seen it, now's your chance.
Search "Lucy Rachel York" and you'll find it.
I haven't watched my copy of this in so long - just seeing a few
minutes reminds me how incredible both Rachel and Danny Pino were in it.
lc
Hello, all,
Rachel has added more features to her website! She has written a nice
note under Rachel Replies and has added a Fan Mail page where she
responds to questions/comments.
There are also a couple of pictures from The Odd Couple in her
portfolio, under Candids/On the Set & Backstage.
Enjoy!
lc
Thanks for the report! Very cool.
The Reprise! website has a few fun photos in the Backstage Blog.
Here's the link:

You have to scroll down a little. Enjoy!

Hey, everyone,
Rachel's site has some good news and some new music:
1. Rachel has been cast as one of the Pigeon sisters in the Reprise!
staged reading of "The Odd Couple" starring Jason Alexander and Martin
Short. Performance dates are Jan. 25-26 in LA. Check the site
(www.rachelyork.net) for details.
2. A couple of songs from the Philly Pops concert are also now in her
music player - "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" and "Back to Before." Turn
the volume up since the concert was recorded live. She sounds g-r-e-a-t.
Happy New Year!

Hello, all,
Rachel, Kip Wilborn and William Michals, along with guest conductor
Don Pippin, put on a wonderful show with the Eastern CT Symphony
Orchestra on Saturday. It was very cold in the theater, but the stars
heated things up pretty quickly. :-)
We all know how versatile Rachel is, and she got to show off her
belt, her comedy, and her glorious soprano all in one show. Kip is an
opera star with a beautiful, strong tenor, and William has a very
rich baritone. They blended together very well.
They began with a trio of Give My Regards to Broadway, then each got
to show off with a solo. Kip sang With a Song in My Heart, Rachel did
a knockout Don't Rain on My Parade, then William crooned Taking a
Chance on Love. They all came back together for a really fun Anything
You Can Do, with Rachel going through the rafters as the one who
could sing higher, and Kip and William holding a note for an eternity
as they tried to prove who could sing longer. William won! The
orchestra gave the singers a break by doing an instrumental of Orange
Blossom Special, then William came back with The Impossible Dream,
Kip followed with an operatic piece (sorry, don't know what it was),
and they all closed Act I with a tribute to Richard Rodgers.
Act II opened with a fun Be Our Guest with all three of them singing
in French accents. Cute. I could just picture Rachel as the feather
duster. :-)
Then the three launched into powerful solos again. William did a very
moving If I Can't Love Her from Beauty and the Beast that got the
audience cheering. Then Kip came out and said, "Oh, great, I have to
follow that?" And he proceeded to deliver a fantastic Being Alive. I
was sitting there thinking, "What on Earth can Rachel possibly do to
top that?!" Well, she did, with a hilarious and incredible Diva's
Lament from Spamalot. The audience roared!
Then they did a trio of Under the Sea, and Rachel improvised some
calypso dancing around the two guys. Adorable. The orchestra took
over for another instrumental of the theme from Beauty and the Beast,
then Kip sang a magnificent rendition of Nessun Dorma from Turandot.
Hints of Pavarotti were in the air. Sigh. Rachel came back with Back
to Before (I just love her version of that song), and William
finished with Music of the Night from Phantom. Rachel and Kip joined
him for the last few bars. They got a standing O, then came back on
for an encore, Circle of Life. Another standing O followed.
It's funny. Troughout the show the men were sort of all about their
voices, singing somewhat seriously like big male divas. And then
there's Rachel - this incredible spark plug who injected real life
into the proceedings all the while matching the guys' vocal chops
note for note. After the show the crowds were swarming around her in
the lobby. All three were signing autographs and chatting, but people
really seemed to linger more with her. You look at Rachel's fans'
faces when she talks with them, and they simply glow with joy.
In parting, here are a couple of reviews of the show. Enjoy!
