Hi, all!
I just finished watching the DVD of Rachel's interview at Seth's
Broadway Chatterbox. OMG. She was hilarious!!!! And so genuine. She
is absolutely adorable. She told stories of her experiences as a
child, as a teenager, in NYC as a bartender (!), plus she shared
behind the scenes tales from City of Angels, Les Mis, Putting It
Together, Victor/Victoria and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. She also did
KILLER impressions of Julie Andrews and Liza Minelli. Time ran out
before Seth could get to other shows and other stories. She was so
entertaining!
I didn't want the interview to end. I wanted to know everything
about her and all the details of every show she's ever done. She
talked about how shy she was growing up and how she had to battle
through terrible nerves at auditions in order to make it. She's such
a great success story. I'm so glad she has been able to overcome her
shyness to be able to share her many gifts with the world.
To top it off, Rachel sang "I Dreamed a Dream" and was amazing. She
went from flat out comedy in her interview to shedding tears by the
end of the song. Brilliant.
Do yourselves a favor - go to Seth's Website and order this DVD. It
costs only $20, and all proceeds go to BC/EFA. (There's an interview
with another actor before Rachel's, so the DVD is a total of two
hours long, but you can keep hitting the search/fast forward till
you get to Rachel's segment). There are many, many other star
interviews available on his site, too. Seth does a great job of
getting folks to relax and reveal their true personalities. He's
also very funny, and he keeps the conversation going at a great
pace.
Enjoy!
