As far as your question about the differences between the MEGO Cornelius and
Galen, there are no major ones. But, there are a few things that people look
at. Example, they say that Galen is on the "type 2" ("muscle body") and
Cornelius isn't, because by ' 75, when Galen was released, almost all MEGOs were
on
type 2 bodys, but the initial run(s) WERE on the old style body. I mean I have
Urko, Ursus, and Burke all on the old style body so they weren't all just on
the type two body. I also have a Zauis on the "muscle body," so you can't
really go by the body type. Personally, and there are some that agree with me, I
think one version of Galen is the old style body with a dark brown collar,
rather than the maroon or purplish one (but, there are Galens out there with
that
color collar too, so it's still a crap-shoot.) The most common way that people
acknowledge the differences between the two are to look at the ears. A lot of
people will say that Galen's only real variation is that his ears are tinged
green in color, whereas Cornelius doesn't have that. The green tinged ears
chimp on a type two body is the version most commonly called Galen. (It would
have
been a lot better, and more accurate, if MEGO had just released a chimp with
a dark brown collar with NO hieroglyphics on it, but MEGO, in it's "recycle
everything and everything" mind set didn't do that...)
